Job summary

Snackcraft is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to keep production equipment running safely and efficiently. You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, and assist with setup, changeovers, and startup/shutdown activities.

You will read blueprints and electrical drawings, use hand and power tools, and complete maintenance work orders while adhering to food safety and GMP standards on a fast-paced production floor.

About the RoleSnackcraft is looking for a dependable and hands-on Maintenance Technician to help keep our production equipment running safely and efficiently.In this role, you will help maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment throughout the facility. You will work closely with the Production and Operations teams to respond to equipment issues, complete scheduled maintenance, and help prevent breakdowns.The right person is someone who enjoys working with their hands, can figure out problems, takes safety seriously, and is willing to learn.What You'll DoPerform routine maintenance on production and facility equipment.Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment.Work on equipment that uses motors, conveyors, pumps, sensors, belts, bearings, and other components.Help troubleshoot basic hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.Complete scheduled preventive maintenance to help prevent equipment breakdowns.Respond to equipment problems and help get production running again as quickly and safely as possible.Assist with equipment setup, changeovers, startup, and shutdown.Inspect equipment and identify potential problems before they become major issues.Read basic blueprints, electrical drawings, equipment manuals, and instructions.Use hand tools, power tools, meters, and other maintenance equipment safely.Complete maintenance work orders, inspection sheets, and other required paperwork.Keep the maintenance area, tools, and work areas clean and organized.Work with Production and Operations to address equipment issues and minimize downtime.Assist with equipment upgrades, improvements, and new installations.Follow all company safety, food safety, quality, GMP, and sanitation requirements.Help train employees on proper equipment use and basic maintenance procedures when needed.Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.What We're Looking ForRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED.Previous experience in maintenance, repair, manufacturing, construction, or a similar hands-on environment.Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.Ability to troubleshoot equipment and identify problems.Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.Ability to use common hand and power tools.Ability to read basic equipment instructions and electrical drawings.Basic computer skills.Good communication and teamwork skills.Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.Ability to follow safety and food safety procedures.Willingness to learn new equipment and maintenance skills.Preferred QualificationsTechnical school, maintenance training, or related education.Experience working with PLCs or Allen-Bradley controls.Experience with motors, conveyors, pumps, sensors, drives, belts, bearings, or similar equipment.Experience with automated production equipment.Previous experience in a food, beverage, or manufacturing facility.Experience with preventive maintenance programs.Physical RequirementsThis position is hands-on and requires regular movement throughout the facility.You must be able to:Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.Stand and walk for extended periods.Bend, kneel, climb, crawl, and reach as needed.Work around operating machinery safely.Work in areas that may be hot, cold, noisy, or physically demanding.Use hand and power tools safely.Respond to equipment problems during production.Work EnvironmentThe Maintenance Technician works in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and may spend most of the workday on the production floor.The position may involve exposure to:Manufacturing equipment and moving machinery.Noise.Temperature changes.Food production areas.Cleaning and sanitation activities.Dust, ingredients, and other normal manufacturing conditions.Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.Safety & Food QualitySafety and food quality are important parts of this position.
