Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is hiring a Mobile Maintenance Technician to support operations in Grand Rapids, MI. The role involves maintaining and repairing building systems, HVAC/R equipment, and kitchen gear as part of a coordinated facilities team.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and at least 1 year of building maintenance experience. On-call duties and adherence to safety procedures are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Completion of an applicable technical training program is desirable.
• 1 year of building repair and maintenance experience required.
• Ability to lift 80 lbs, use ladders up to 30 ft, and mechanical/electrical aptitude.
• Background, drug/alcohol, and MVR screening required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the operations team in maintenance and repair of building and equipment.
• Perform HVAC/R coil cleaning and kitchen equipment maintenance.
• Conduct minor plumbing repairs.
• Maintain lighting systems, bulbs and ballasts.
• Complete special tasks (painting, locksmith work, tenant services) as assigned.
• Be on call for after-hours emergencies.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain clean work areas.
• Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and training programs.
• Document work performance and materials as directed.

Mobile Maintenance Technician – What this job involves

The Maintenance Technician supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes to mechanical, electrical, plumbing and kitchen equipment and systems in assigned facilities. Assists Mobile Engineers (HVAC/R) and Control Systems Technicians in maintenance and repair efforts, as well as independently performing defined tasks.

What is your day to day?

Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment.

• General interior maintenance – HVAC/R coil cleaning, evaporator coil cleaning, kitchen equipment maintenance (meat grinder, cuber, meat saw, slicers, etc.).
• Minor plumbing repairs.
• Maintain lighting system bulbs and ballasts.
• Completes special tasks that include but are not limited to; painting, locksmith work, tenant services requests, and general maintenance as assigned.
• This position requires the employee to be on call for after-hours emergencies.
• Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas.
• Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.
• Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs.
• Documents work performance and materials procurement as directed.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Candidate must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
• Completion of an applicable technical training program is desirable.
• Have a minimum of one (1) year of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical.
• Must have ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs., use ladders up to 30 ft, and possess mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Must pass background, drug/alcohol, and MVR screening process.

Preferred Qualifications

• UST Class B Certification.
• Ability to comply with both Jones Lang LaSalle and client-directed Policies & Procedures.
• Successful candidate must be a self-motivated individual who can work independently or in a team environment.

On-site – Grand Rapids, MI
