Job summary

Avesta Housing is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep properties in Gorham, ME safe, welcoming, and well-maintained. This hands-on role covers routine, emergency, and preventative repairs, plus groundskeeping, in collaboration with property management.

You will respond to resident needs, complete work orders, and document activity using company apps on a cellphone. A reliable vehicle and rotating on-call availability are required, with hourly wages of $22.00–$24.00.

Qualifications

• Reliable and independent individual willing to learn in a mission-based environment.
• Knowledge of, or ability to learn, general apartment and building repairs including basic plumbing, basic electrical, painting and light carpentry.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Detail oriented with ability to independently complete assigned work orders and maintain digital records via app usage on a company issued cellular phone.
• Good communications skills.
• Strong customer service skills that include working professionally in occupied apartments.
• Experience with technology including use of company issued cellular phone and work related applications.
• Availability to work a shared rotating on-call schedule is required.
• Reliable vehicle for daily transportation use is required, mileage reimbursement provided.

This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position with opportunity for overtime pay. Hourly wage is $22.00 - $24.00/hour.
