Job summary

Daniels Health & Sharpsmart in Gastonia, NC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to service electro‑mechanical equipment, including robotic washlines, autoclaves, boilers, and other critical facility systems for medical waste processing.

The role requires travel to regional sites and occasional short‑notice emergency maintenance. You will perform daily maintenance, diagnose PLC‑controlled machines, coordinate parts with Service and Engineering, install upgrades, and provide weekly reports.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical experience with assemblies and production equipment.
• Welding skills for basic repair work.
• Electrical troubleshooting and repair capabilities.
• Ability to diagnose PLC‑controlled machine issues.
• Experience with boilers and coordinating maintenance activities.
• Willingness to travel and respond to emergency maintenance needs.
• Background in medical waste processing or similar regulated environments.
• Familiarity with MaintainX or similar inventory systems.

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support equipment at our Daniels Health site in Gastonia, NC. This role involves servicing and maintaining electro‑mechanical equipment, including robotic washlines, autoclaves, boilers, and other facility systems critical to medical waste processing operations. Travel and occasional short‑notice support for emergency maintenance at regional sites are required.

We’re on a mission to make healthcare safer. Daniels Health provides reusable medical waste containers designed to reduce needlestick injuries and support sustainability. After use, we professionally clean and sanitize each container for reuse, while responsibly disposing of medical waste at our treatment facilities. Our closed‑loop system ensures safety, compliance, and environmental responsibility for our customers.
