Job summary

Mohawk Industries is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to maintain high-precision manufacturing equipment on the night shift. You will perform preventive and reactive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control systems, and support ongoing improvements.

You will ensure safety compliance, coordinate with maintenance and production teams, and mentor on-shift technicians. A high school diploma and 3+ years in industrial manufacturing with PLC experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years in industrial manufacturing as Electro-Mechanical/Automation Technician or similar.
• 1 year PLC troubleshooting or programming.
• Experience leading projects or supervising is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot high-precision manufacturing equipment.
• Perform predictive and preventive maintenance and safety compliance checks.
• Coordinate with maintenance, production and leadership on shift timelines.
• Lead/mentor on-shift technicians and allocate resources for repairs.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems including motors, wiring and controls.

What We Need:

This position will be responsible for machine reliability for assigned shift, including reactive and preventative maintenance tasks, on precision manufacturing equipment and machinery.

What You’ll Do:

• Comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations, and identify, recommend, and implement safety improvements.
• Performs multicraft maintenance tasks on high precision manufacturing equipment, including testing, adjustments, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
• Learns production equipment processes and standards to aid in machine troubleshooting and provide operational support.
• Uses technical knowledge to identify and implement machine improvements, with a focus on reliability.
• Assigns technical resources and technicians to reactionary maintenance needs and other tasks as assigned.
• Audits for daily, weekly, and monthly compliance requirements.
• Communicates with oncoming shift, Maintenance, Production, and Department Leadership to share necessary information, provide updates, and follow reaction procedures as needed.
• Contributes to skills development of on-shift technicians.
• Performs troubleshooting for electrical problems with single phase and 3 phase motors, wiring and controls

What You Have:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ year experience in an industrial manufacturing setting as an Electro-Mechanical Technician, Engineering Technician, or Automation Technician.
• 3 years’ experience in an automated manufacturing environment
• 1 years’ PLC troubleshooting or programming
• 1 years – Working in a maintenance role utilizing fabrication, mechanical, and electrical crafts
• 1 years’ experience leading projects or direct supervisory experience

• Troubleshoot and repair equipment failures in a timely and effective manner.
• Apply knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
• Collaborate effectively across department, both with maintenance team and production team.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives through teamwork, accountability, and a proactive approach to maintenance.

What Else?

This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be fluctuating temperatures, and additional department‑specific variables. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required, and may include hearing protection, safety shoes, high‑visibility clothing, and eye protection.

Other working conditions may include working 12 hour night shifts and a fixed shift rotation, including holidays.

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.; bending, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs are required.
