Job summary

Tessenderlo Kerley, Inc. in Fresno, CA is hiring a Maintenance Technician to support plant operations. You will perform troubleshooting and maintenance to ensure safe, efficient operations, rebuild rotating equipment, and manage preventative maintenance and spare parts.

Prior focus on pump, tank agitators, conveyors, and elevator maintenance is advantageous. Qualification includes a high school diploma or GED and at least 5 years in general maintenance, with strong technical and communication

Qualifications

  • HS degree or GED is required.
  • At least 5 years experience working in general maintenance.
  • Strong technical knowledge/skills.
  • Experience with pump maintenance, tank agitators, product conveyors, and elevator maintenance is desired but not required.
  • Demonstrated track record in process maintenance.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Strong people skills; able to work with shop floor to executives.
  • Computer literate – MS Office, SAP.
  • Knowledge of HAZWOPER, OSHA, PSM, RCRA, DOT regulations is preferred.
  • Willing and able to work an 8-hour day shift with some weekends, overtime, and possible holidays.
  • Perform any other duties as deemed necessary by management.

  • Maintain facility equipment files, conduct preventative maintenance, and maintain sufficient spare parts inventory.
  • Maintain all maintenance shop and parts storage areas in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Troubleshoot and mitigate plant process issues.
  • Have the ability to go through training and learn how to contain, clean up, package, and label Hazardous Waste, according to HAZWOPER training and OSHA, EPA, RCRA, HM-126, and DOT regulations.

Currently, Tessenderlo Kerleyneeds to hire aMaintenance Technician to support plant operations in theirFresno, CA Facility.

In the Maintenance Technician role, you will perform plant troubleshooting and maintenance to ensure safe and efficient plant operations are being conducted.

Experience with plant maintenance with emphasis on pump maintenance, tank agitators, product conveyors, and elevator maintenance is desired but not necessary as this is an area of focus for this role.

You will rebuild and align rotating equipment. Maintain local equipment files, conduct preventative maintenance activities, maintain spare parts inventories, and maintain work areas in a clean and organized fashion.

Key Accountabilities:
Assist with the development of plant Maintenance Procedures.
  • Perform maintenance activities as required to ensure safe and reliable process operations.
  • Maintain facility equipment files, conduct preventative maintenance, and maintain sufficient spare parts inventory.
  • Maintain all maintenance shop and parts storage areas in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Troubleshoot and mitigate plant process issues.
  • Conduct all Tessenderlo Kerley business in a professional manner and with integrity.
  • Have the ability to go through training and learn how to contain, clean up, package, and labelHazardous Waste, according to HAZWOPER training and OSHA, EPA, RCRA, HM-126, and DOT regulations.

Key Knowledge Skills and Behaviors:

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand for prolonged periods of time, climb multiple flights of stairs, and have the ability to perform various tasks using reaching, pulling, and pushing techniques.
  • Must be medically cleared to utilize self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), in-line air with full face respirator, and other respiratory equipment.
  • Ability tolift 50 pounds routinely throughout the work day.
  • Abilityto walk up to a 1/4 mile on a regular basis throughout the work day.

The starting salary range for this position is $32.14 - $39.51 per hour. Please note: The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the geographical region along with the candidate’s experience, education, and work location.
