Job summary

Air Liquide Advanced Materials in Fremont, CA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to repair, troubleshoot and maintain production and engineering equipment, including gas manifolds and facility systems. The role requires shift work, including nights, weekends and holidays.

You will install/modify equipment, support safety, review work instructions, manage preventative maintenance, and participate in ALAM emergency response.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years industrial maintenance experience, preferably in chemical or fluids systems.
  • Ability to medically pass a respiratory and physical test to wear a full-face respirator.
  • Fitness for duty, including lifting up to 50 pounds and climbing ladders.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID or Engineering drawings.
  • Basic electronic, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to roll cylinders up to 200 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Review and update Work Instructions.
  • Determine preventative maintenance intervals from repair data.

  • Ensure spare parts inventory aligns with needs.
  • Prepare Purchase Requisitions for parts.
  • Perform component rebuilds and calibrations.
  • Follow process flow and safety protocols.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for all aspects of repair, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance related to production and engineering operations at Air Liquide Advanced Materials. Included is troubleshooting and repair of equipment associated with all gas manifolds and the associated facility equipment. Shift work that will include nights and weekends and holidays.

  • Salary Range: $28 - $35/hour

  • Annual Bonus: 5%

  • Work schedule : 8 Hours Shift Mon - Fri

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Installation and/or modification of chemical processing equipment as well as the repair and troubleshooting of auxiliary equipment associated with all chemical processing equipment and other facility equipment.
  • Assist in promoting safety and organization in the maintenance dept.
  • Continues review and updating of Work Instructions
  • Recommended preventative maintenance intervals based on repair data
  • Responsible for the execution of the Preventative Maintenance Program and the Monitoring and Measuring Devices Program.
  • Specialize in Engineering improvement construction projects, ensuring that projects have a well-defined scope and schedule which has been reviewed by all affected parties.
  • Recommended spare parts inventory levels
  • Be able to write Purchase Requisitions for needed parts
  • Be able to perform all component rebuilds and calibrations.
  • Understand and follow the process flow within chemical processing equipment .
  • Understand and perform valid leak checks
  • Follow all work instructions and safety protocol
  • Organize and sort information using available computer software.
  • Successfully complete all assigned training
  • Must be and remain clean shaven at all times
  • Ability to wear a full face tight fitting respirator and a fully encapsulated (Level A) ER suit, Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), or any other tight-fitting and/or supplied air respirators (SAR)
  • Ability to roll cylinders- Rolling cylinders requires an individual to tilt a cylinder slightly with one hand, and use the other hand to move the cylinder forward by rolling it.
  • Fitness for duty, including but not limited to: ability to lift 50 pounds and have the ability to climb ladders.
  • Actively participate on ALAM's emergency response (ER) team including as an ER entry team member, which requires wearing a tight fitting full-face respirator

  • 3+ years Industrial Maintenance experience, preferably in chemical industry or industry related to fluids systems Gas (Pressure) system component theory and operation
  • Ability to medically pass a respiratory test and physical test in order to wear a full face respirator as required
  • Fitness for duty, including but not limited to: ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders
  • Ability to roll cylinders that weigh up to 200lbs - Rolling cylinders requires an individual to tilt a cylinder slightly with one hand, and use the other hand to move the cylinder forward by rolling it.
  • Able to read and construct from a P&ID or Engineering drawing
  • Basic electronic, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills
  • General Maintenance skills
  • Tube bending skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to roll cylinders- Rolling cylinders requires an individual to tilt a cylinder slightly with one hand, and use the other hand to move the cylinder forward by rolling it.
  • Fitness for duty, including but not limited to: ability to lift 50 pounds and have the ability to climb ladders.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Gas (Pressure) system component theory and operation
  • Vacuum system component theory and operation
  • Previous emergency response experience or certification

In addition to the tasks listed above, the technician shall perform all other duties as assigned to ensure operational continuity.
