Job summary

Amprius Technologies, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support facility infrastructure and production/R&D equipment in Fremont, CA.

This role performs preventive and corrective maintenance, inspects utilities, and troubleshoots issues to keep operations safe and reliable. The technician reports to the Senior Manager, Facilities and Environmental Health & Safety and collaborates with the Lead Facilities Technician.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on maintenance in manufacturing or similar.
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance preferred.
• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic or utility systems.
• Experience in R&D, production, or facility support is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on production and R&D equipment.
• Inspect facility infrastructure including HVAC, water systems, pumps, and other utilities.
• Troubleshoot equipment and facility issues within scope and repair as needed.
• Escalate complex failures to the Lead Facilities Technician or management.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and parts used.
• Assist with equipment moves, installations, and lab setup.
• Support safety, housekeeping, and vendor coordination.

Summary

Amprius is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance of facility infrastructure and assigned production and R&D equipment. This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and general upkeep needed to support safe and reliable operations across the site.

The Maintenance Technician reports to the Senior Manager, Facilities and Environmental Health and Safety and works under the day-to-day direction of the Lead Facilities Technician. This role is expected to support both facility related maintenance and equipment maintenance based on business needs and team priorities.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on assigned production and R&D equipment in accordance with approved procedures, schedules, and team priorities


• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on facility infrastructure including HVAC, CDA, DI water, exhaust, pumps, filters, and other basic utility systems


• Troubleshoot equipment and facility related issues and complete repairs that are within assigned skill level and scope


• Escalate complex equipment failures, facility issues, safety concerns, and recurring problems to the Lead Facilities Technician or management as needed


• Support maintenance activities that improve equipment uptime, facility reliability, and overall site readiness


• Complete scheduled inspections and maintenance tasks with accurate documentation of work performed, findings, and parts used


• Assist with equipment moves, installation support, demolition support, and setup of lab, production, or facility related infrastructure


• Support basic fabrication, assembly, and mechanical work needed for maintenance tasks, equipment support, carts, benches, racks, or similar items


• Maintain tools, spare parts, consumables, and maintenance supplies in an organized and ready state


• Respond to maintenance requests from R&D, Production, Lab, and other internal teams in a timely and professional manner


• Coordinate with the Lead Facilities Technician and other team members to prioritize work and minimize disruption to operations


• Follow established maintenance procedures, safety requirements, and housekeeping expectations at all times


• Support contractors and vendors as assigned, including access, escorting, work area preparation, and follow up


• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment across maintenance areas, shops, and assigned work locations


• Assist with updating maintenance records, checklists, and related documentation in company systems


• Monitor PPE stock levels throughout the facility and ensure supplies are replenished in designated areas as needed


• Record PPE inventory levels and communicate restocking needs in a timely manner


• Order PPE supplies as needed in alignment with department expectations and approved purchasing processes


• Monitor janitorial supply levels throughout the facility and ensure materials are replenished and available for site use


• Record janitorial inventory levels and order replacement supplies as needed


• Maintain organized storage areas for PPE and janitorial supplies to support cleanliness, visibility, and efficient use


• Assist with assigned cross functional support work such as preparing batteries for disposal, supporting shipping activities, wrapping pallets, scanning cells, or similar site needs as required


• Perform other maintenance and site support duties as assigned in support of departmental and company goals

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required


• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, lab, or similar technical environment


• Experience supporting preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on equipment preferred


• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or utility systems preferred


• Experience working in R&D, production, or facility support environments is a plus

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to perform hands-on maintenance work with limited supervision


• Basic troubleshooting ability for mechanical and equipment related issues


• Familiarity with common maintenance tools, hand tools, and basic power tools


• Ability to follow written procedures, schedules, and verbal direction


• Strong attention to detail and reliability in completing assigned work


• Ability to communicate clearly with technicians, internal customers, vendors, and management


• Basic computer skills for email, data entry, work orders, and maintenance records


• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to changing priorities

Work Schedule:

• 8-hour shift


• Monday to Friday


• Weekends as needed

Physical Demands & Work Location:

• Fremont, CA: This is an on-site role. Reliable commute or planning to relocate before starting work is required


• Must be able to lift and or move objects up to 50 pounds


• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, twist, crawl, reach, push, and pull as required


• Must be able to use ladders, lifts, and maintenance equipment as needed


• Must wear required personal protective equipment based on task and work area

• Comprehensive compensation package includes base salary. Salary range for this role is $28.00 to $42.00. Base salary will be determined based on knowledge, experience, and education.
