Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting, installing, aligning, dismantling, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment for improved reliability and uptime.
  • Performing periodic maintenance routines to identify and correct mechanical defects before they fail.
  • Maintaining operations equipment to achieve optimal performance levels.
  • Working with operations associates to identify and prioritize maintenance needs.
  • Adhering to all plant health, safety, and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures with the ability to wear the necessary PPE.

Georgia-Pacific’s Oriented Strand Board (OSB) plant inFordyce, Arkansashas an incredible opportunity for safety-oriented individuals to join our team as aMaintenance Technician.This position requires a thorough understanding of safe work practices, troubleshooting, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. This position creates value for the facility by performing preventative and corrective maintenance leading to increased uptime and reliability, thus helping the facility to meet their production and quality goals.

Our Maintenance Technician use their own personal metric and standard tools, to include wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, etc. while working in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment.

The position will work a Day Shift, Monday-Friday schedule, with hours from 6:00am - 3:00pm CST. This includes, but is not limited to overtime, holidays, and weekends.

Our Team

Our Georgia Pacific facility in Fordyce, AR manufactures Oriented Strand Board (OSB), compressed strands of wood chips that are bound together by adhesives which prevent moisture intrusion. This type of OSB is used for floor, wall, and roof sheathing in residential and light commercial construction applications. What You Will Do
  • Troubleshooting, installing, aligning, dismantling, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical equipment for improved reliability and uptime

  • Working with operations associates to identify and prioritize maintenance needs
  • Adhering to all plant health, safety, and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures with the ability to wear the necessary Personal Protection Equipment (i.e. hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, ear plugs, steel-toe boots and other PPE required by specific jobs)
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial, military, agricultural or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with fabrication and welding
  • Experience working with hydraulic systems
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Two (2) years or more of experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial, military or manufacturing environment
  • Two (2) years or more of experience working with hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, valves, motors, accumulators, and fluid power circuits
  • Experience reading and interpreting hydraulic schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Fluid Power Society (IFPS) certification or equivalent hydraulic certification
  • Experience rebuilding and troubleshooting hydraulic pumps, cylinders, and valves
  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Hydraulics, or related field
