Job summary

Mars Wrigley in Gainesville, GA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot and repair packaging, conveying, processing and facilities equipment on a 12-hour night shift.

You will perform preventive maintenance, document work orders in SAP, and support operations with equipment setup and changeovers. A high school diploma and 2+ years in manufacturing are required, with GMP knowledge and basic MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of maintenance technician experience in manufacturing.
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Understand GMP requirements.
• Must complete onboarding and training within the first 7 weeks (no vacation during this time).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair equipment, failed components, and centerline adjustments.
• Conduct Preventative Maintenance (PM) and support operations with equipment set up and changeover.
• Document Work Orders (WOs) and PMs using SAP for Plant maintenance functions.
• Some fabrication and/or machinist work; trained as required.
• Participate in TPM Teams, train operators in Autonomous Maintenance activities and participate in breakdown analysis/elimination efforts.
• Adheres to Maintenance and Repair costs while following Maintenance Planning & Scheduling.
• Assists Operations with Anomaly Handling.

Title: Maintenance Technician

Pay: Based on experience

Required Shift

12 Hour Night Shift 5pm/6pm - 5:30am/6:30am

This schedule repeats every two weeks.

Week 1: On Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday (Off Wednesday & Thursday)

Week 2: On Wednesday & Thursday (Off Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday)

Job Purpose

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and performing mechanical repairs on all assigned equipment, including basic hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drive systems at the component level (e.g., packaging, conveying, processing or facilities equipment, etc).

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment
• Basic Computer skills required (e.g., Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Understand Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
• Required to participate in a stringent onboarding and training program within the first 7 weeks of employment (no vacation time will be approved during this time)

Physical Requirements

• Frequent lifting/carrying pushing (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
• Frequent bending, stooping, handling and gripping.
• Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, leaning over equipment and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to stand and/or work on feet for extended periods (minimum eight hours in one shift).
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or Technical Degree
• 4+ years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment
• Possess a fundamental understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic & mechanical schematics/drawings.
• Understand TPM Theory and Concepts

Key responsibilities

• Document Work Orders (WOs) and PMs using computerized maintenance management system (SAP) for Plant maintenance functions.
• Some fabrication and/or machinist work; trained as required.
• Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Teams, train operators in Autonomous Maintenance (AMs) activities and participate in Breakdown Analysis/Elimination efforts.
• Adheres to Maintenance and Repair costs while follow Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
• Assists Operations with Anomaly Handling
