Job summary

Signode, a leading packaging solutions provider, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Kentucky facility. The role ensures safe, efficient operation of production equipment and preventative maintenance activities on a 12-hour night shift.

You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, repair machines, perform preventive maintenance, update work orders, and collaborate with the maintenance team to quickly resolve issues and minimize downtime.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; certifications are a plus.
  • 1–3 years of industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to read gauges and instruments related to product quality and repair work.
  • Knowledge of PLCs and drives; welding experience is beneficial.
  • Forklift experience is desirable; training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and repairs equipment in a timely, cost-effective manner.
  • Perform duties to maintain production machines and facility equipment.
  • Check and inspect equipment during preventative maintenance; report findings.
  • Complete work orders and update maintenance tracking system.
  • Identify and correct electrical issues through knowledge of drives and PLCs.
  • Ensure productivity and quality after repairs, changeovers, and downtime.

Job Description

Shift:

  • 7:45pm to 8:00am,12-hours shift. Rotative schedule M/T, F/S/S - W/T(night shiftdifferential)

The hourly wage for this position starts ranges from $27.70 - $35.00 and varies based on specific responsibilities and geographic location. Starting hourly rate within this range will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and/or skillset.

Summary:

The primary purpose of the maintenance technician is to ensure production and operations are running safely at the most efficient level achievable, producing the highest possible production quality. Complies with applicable regulations and the department’s safety program.

Essential Functions:

  • Troubleshoots and repairs equipment in a timely, complete, and cost-effective manner.
  • Perform duties to maintain production machines and other facility equipment.
  • Check and inspect assigned equipment during preventative maintenance. Reports findings to management.
  • Complete work orders and update maintenance tracking system.
  • Identifies and recommends corrections on electrical issues through knowledge of drives and PLCs.
  • Ensure machine productivity and quality after repairs, changeovers, and extended down time.
  • Maintains inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
  • Respond quickly to issues or concerns that may put employees at risk for injury, to include rectifying immediate dangers.
  • Maintain building safety and appearance including utilities, ventilation, housekeeping and plumbing.
  • Communicate existing and potential issues with group leaders/maintenance manager.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma/ GED preferred but not required. Certifications preferred but not required.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance experience in fast paced manufacturing environment. Any equivalent of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
  • Ability to understand and interpret gauges, tools, and instruments relating to product quality and equipment repair
  • Must have a good working knowledge of electricity and troubleshooting electrical issues.
  • Knowledge and experience with PLCs, drives are preferred.
  • Experience in welding with MIG and/or arc welder preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred; training will be provided.
