The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance functions on the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems of the property under the direction of the Maintenance Foreman and the Facilities Director.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Performs routine maintenance and repair on buildings and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical.
- Sweeps floors as necessary or directed.
- Replaces burned out light bulbs, to include exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, emergency lights, and nurse call lights, and performs routine cleaning in high areas.
- Changes filters on HVAC units.
- Assists with routine maintenance and repair on equipment.
- Keeps work areas free of hazardous conditions, grease, or oil spills and excess supplies.
- Keeps the Maintenance Foreman informed of supply needs.
- Assists in implementation of departmental policies and procedures to ensure that the maintenance of the premises and equipment is current at all times.
- Attends and participates in in-service educational classes and on the job training programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience or training in minor repairs of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment desired.
- Must be knowledgeable of proper usage and safe operation of basic hand tools and power tools used in making repairs.
- Must have basic knowledge of property buildings and structures and their equipment.
