Job summary

Accuride Corporation in Erie, PA is seeking a maintenance professional responsible for servicing facility equipment to support manufacturing operations and personnel safety.

You will coordinate emergency, preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair equipment (pneumatics, hydraulics, drives, robotics), review electrical schematics, and oversee crews to minimize downtime while upholding safety and union requirements.

Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree required; bachelor’s degree a definite plus.
  • Minimum five years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA, JIC, ANSI, NEMA, and National Electrical Code.
  • Well-developed electrical and mechanical skills for manufacturing equipment repair.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and diagnose production machinery.
  • Excellent communication, analytical and leadership abilities.

Job description

Basic Purpose
This position has direct accountability for the servicing of all facility equipment to support manufacturing operations and related technical activities, and the safety of plant personnel. Coordinates and assists in the installation, maintenance, servicing and mechanical/electrical repair of all equipment necessary for the continuity of manufacturing operations.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Coordinate programs such as emergency, preventive and predictive maintenance to insure optimum equipment efficiency and/or capability.
  2. Troubleshoot, maintain and repair large manufacturing equipment that includes pneumatics, hydraulics, air compressors, chillers, heat exchangers, drives, robotics, gear boxes, conveyer systems, pumps, piping and valves, filters/strainers, electrical systems.
  3. Applied knowledge of the following is essential: predictive/preventative maintenance, mechanical equipment repair, advanced electricity, robotic systems and fluid and lubrication systems.
  4. Assist supervision with the oversight of maintenance operations to effectively utilize manpower, machinery and materials to minimize the cost of repairs to machinery, systems and related equipment.
  5. Reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures, electrical schematics, blueprints, service manuals, and work orders to complete required maintenance.
  6. Resolve issues that impact technical and/or operational effectiveness and ensures achievement of team and organizational goals.
  7. Identify training needs and capability "gaps"; implement training and development plans for assigned maintenance personnel to ensure employee competency.
  8. Administer company policies and procedures. Respond to collective bargaining issues in a timely manner as stated in the Union contract.
  9. Continuously improve operational processes by leveraging personal and team knowledge and expertise; analyze operating performance and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  10. Promote safety awareness, implement safety guidelines and programs, evaluate reasons for accidents and injuries and recommend actions to correct safety issues.

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Two-year technical degree desired; bachelor's degree a definite plus.
  • Minimum of five years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience; previous exposure working in a unionized environment desired.
  • Thorough understanding of OSHA, JIC, ANSI, NEMA, and National Electrical Code.
  • Well-developed electrical and mechanical skills and related experience in manufacturing processes to determine equipment, material and resources required to facilitate equipment repair.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, including diagnostics/troubleshooting of production machinery, electrical systems and new equipment installation.
  • Must have good analytical, decision-making and leadership skills.
  • Must be proficient in the use of analytical tools and techniques to interpret relevant data, provide training and participate in teams and find solutions to problems.
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to organize, coordinate and track projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PC applications and related technical software.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with internal/external customers.
