With supervision, the Fleet Technician I is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all Mobile Storage rental fleet equipment, including containers, ground level offices, office trailers, and/or modular buildings. It is the responsibility of the Fleet Technician I to perform all cleaning and maintenance tasks in a safe manner in accordance with company standards. The Fleet Technician I must also be capable of effectively performing all duties of an Equipment Associate.

What You'll Do

1. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Mobile Storage quality standards.
2. Perform basic maintenance and repairs, including flooring, tiles, roofs, walls, frames, doors, leaks, caulking, windows, screens, painting, filters/dampers, replacing skins and trim, tagging of equipment, removal/install of UR decals and equipment numbers.
3. Hooking mobile office to power source.
4. Checking tire pressure and lugs.
5. Complete assignments on time and within budget, as documented on Work Orders.
6. Complete necessary documentation (work order, etc.).
7. Travel to customer sites to set office trailers and assist CDL A Drivers when needed.
8. Complete equipment modifications in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and applicable codes.
9. Maintain organization and cleanliness of shop, yard, tools, and supplies following Mobile Storage and United Rentals 5S guidelines.
10. Inspect and process inbound and outbound equipment following Rental Flow procedures.
11. Operate forklifts safely.
12. Show and exhibit fleet to customers when needed.
13. Safely install and uninstall VAPs according to reservation requirements.

Requirements

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Active applicable state class driver’s license.
3. Related maintenance experience a plus.
4. Basic verbal and written skills.
5. Construction knowledge and background.
6. Teamwork and customer service skills.
7. Demonstrated time management skills.
8. Ability to utilize required information technology.
9. Working knowledge of heavy equipment, tools, and warranty process.
10. Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
