Job summary

Morton Industries Dunlap LLC is hiring a 1st shift Maintenance Technician to work on plant machinery and facilities. Duties include welding, carpentry, electrical work, pipe fitting, and plumbing repairs as required.

You will read plans and install wiring for new machinery, including robots and conveyors, and diagnose issues with testing tools. The role requires hands-on problem solving with experience in electrical and mechanical systems, and familiarity with robot controllers and PLCs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associates degree with technical focus or 2 years of related maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains plant machinery and facilities per plans and sketches.
• Welding, carpentry, electric, pipe fitting, and plumbing repairs as needed.
• Installs power supply, wiring, and conduit for machines and robots.
• Troubleshoots malfunctioning equipment and replaces faulty components.
• Operates robot controllers and programmable controllers for testing and repairs.

Duties may include welding, carpentry, electric, pipe fitting, and plumbing repairs as necessary. Working from plans, sketches, or design. Constructs equipment for plant use.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSInclude, but are not limited to, the following:Installs power supply, wiring, and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment; connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery, buzzer, and oscilloscope.Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, and conducts repairs.Tests and/or observes malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with operator and/or manufacturers to diagnose issues.
