Job summary

JLL is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician in Detroit, MI, on the 3rd shift (Tuesday–Friday). The role entails performing preventive and repair work on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and coordinating with team members to ensure smooth operations.

The candidate should have 1–3 years of building repair experience, a high school diploma, and be able to lift up to 80 lbs. On-site work with comprehensive benefits is provided.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing preventive and repair work orders on mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other systems.
• Conduct facility inspections and report conditions affecting occupancy and operations.
• Perform interior maintenance (hang pictures, repair office furniture, doors).
• Assist operations in maintenance and repair of building and equipment as directed.
• Move office furniture, machinery, and other materials as requested.
• Replace lighting and ballasts; clean HVAC coils and change filters/belts.

Building Maintenance Technician

Location - DTW

Shift - 3rd (Tuesday - Friday)

What this job involves:

The Maintenance Technician supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes to mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities. Partners with Team Members and Mobile Engineers in maintenance and repair efforts, as well as independently performing defined tasks. Performs inspections and repairs to assigned property interior and exterior areas, including HVAC units, Boilers, Cooling Towers, walls and flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, lighting, etc.

What your day to day will look like:

• Performance of ongoing preventive and repair response work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other installed systems, equipment, and other components
• Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations
• General interior maintenance - hang pictures, install keyboard trays, repair office furniture systems and repair doors
• Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment and/or as directed
• Moves office furniture, machinery, equipment and other materials as requested
• Replace lighting and ballasts
• Clean HVAC coils, change filters and belts
• Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed and update work orders in real time
• Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws
• Any and all other duties and tasks assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Have a minimum of 1-3 years of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical
• Licenses as required by authority having jurisdiction
• Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs and climb up to 30 ft ladders
• Position requires frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and driving
