Job summary

The TJX Companies, Inc. Marshalls Distribution Center in Atlanta is hiring a Maintenance Technician for the Evening Shift (Mon-Thu, 5am-3:30pm). Responsibilities include electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance to keep DC equipment running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience in maintenance of equipment with mechanical and electrical systems; 3+ years conveyor systems; knowledge of codes and schematics; overtime may be required. Benefits include associate discount and more.

Job Description

Maintenance Technician

Evening Shift (Monday-Thursday, 5am - 3:30pm)

Must be able to work alternate shifts, weekends and overtime as needed

Job Summary

Performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades requiring advanced specialized knowledge (e.g., electrical, HVAC, etc.) Tests, inspects troubleshoots and repairs machines, equipment and/or systems. Conducts a variety of complex installation and maintenance work to prevent breakdowns and ensure proper functioning of facility, machinery, equipment and applicable systems.

Major Areas of Responsibility

• Maintains safe, efficient and proper operation of a variety of Distribution Center equipment and systems. Completes tests, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs. Interprets blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings and specifications.
• Leads and guides other associates in safety procedures, installations and maintenance. Recommends and implements improvements to equipment, operations and procedures as appropriate.
• Oversees and maintains repair, inventory and maintenance logs. Estimates costs, prepares requisitions and contacts vendors for parts and service as necessary.
• Performs special projects or duties as assigned.
• Basic electrical skills – To include use of a multi-meter and able to change receptacles, switches and lighting ballast.
• General ability to read blueprints and schematics
• General maintenance to include painting, plumbing and facility upkeep.(snow/ice removal and salting where applicable)

Ideal Applicants will have

• 5+ years of experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of a variety of equipment including mechanical electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
• 3+ years of conveyor systems and power equipment experience
• Knowledge of building codes, trade standards and general practices within the maintenance field.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC systems, water systems, building repairs and housekeeping procedures

This position has a starting pay range of $25.35 to $34.20 per hour. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
