University of Dayton is seeking a Maintenance Operations Mechanic within Facilities Management & Planning to support the care and maintenance of over 5.5 million square feet of campus facilities on a 432 acre urban campus in Dayton, OH.

Responsibilities include carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks, following detailed instructions, and maintaining a safe, efficient campus operation. Tuition assistance and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED.
• Three (3) years' experience in comparable work is required.
• Must be skilled in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance across carpentry, plumbing and electrical trades as part of Facilities Management & Planning.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED.
• Ability to follow detailed instruction, both oral and written, in the English language. Mechanical aptitude and demonstrated skills.
• Knowledge of all job related tools and equipment.
• Three (3) years' experience in comparable work is required.
• Must be skilled in the following trades: carpentry, plumbing, and electrical.
• Individual must have a valid drivers license and be insurable by the University which includes maintaining a low risk driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

• General knowledge of appliance repairs and understanding of HVAC systems.
• Basic knowledge of computers and how to use an email and internet program.
