Job summary

Lincoln Property Company seeks a Maintenance Technician to ensure building systems’ integrity through routine maintenance and minor repairs. You will support operations under the Chief/Assistant Chief Engineer and coordinate with tenants, vendors, and the leadership team.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical or vocational training, and/or 1–2 years of on‑the‑job training in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, or plumbing.
  • Basic working knowledge of laptop and phone applications for work orders and facility operation systems; basic skills with Microsoft Outlook.
  • Possess engineering and trade licenses required according to local, state, or national requirements.
  • Familiar with fire/life safety equipment/procedures.
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent internal and external customer service; ability to interact with tenants/vendors/contractors as well as teammates and leadership.
  • Familiarity with blueprints and code requirements.
  • Ability to work after hours, weekends, holidays, and during emergency situations as necessary.
  • Possess competent knowledge of use and care of tools.
  • Ability to read and write English to understand manuals and procedures, and write reports.
  • Willingness to develop proficiency in basic hand tool operation and mechanical repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs in restroom facilities and replace fixtures as needed.
  • Carry out general labor tasks and debris removal to support maintenance.
  • Safely operate employer-provided vehicles for parts and supplies.
  • Maintain and replace door hardware; basic furniture repair and floor maintenance; light painting and cleaning in mechanical spaces.
  • Perform maintenance tasks and inspections of engineering areas and equipment.
  • Replace lamps, air filters, ceiling tiles, and fire extinguishers.
  • Communicate professionally with teammates, leadership, vendors, tenants, and client employees.

Job description

The Maintenance Technician ensures the integrity of building systems by performing routine maintenance and minor repairs while supporting the efficient operation of equipment. This role provides hands-on support for general maintenance tasks under the supervision of the Chief Engineer or Assistant Chief Engineer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform repairs in restroom facilities, including toilets and soap dispensers; clear drains using plungers and handheld augers.
  • Conduct general labor tasks, such as carrying, stacking, and sorting materials; debris removal.
  • Safely use employer-provided vehicles to travel for parts and supplies, adhering to all traffic laws.
  • Maintain and/or replace door hardware; handle minor furniture repairs and floor maintenance; and conduct basic painting tasks in equipment rooms; and perform general cleaning in mechanical spaces.
  • Perform maintenance tasks as assigned; conduct cleaning and inspections of engineering areas, mechanical spaces, and equipment.
  • Replace lamps, air filters, ceiling tiles, and fire extinguishers.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with teammates, leadership team, vendors, tenants, and client employees in a professional manner, keeping the appropriate customer(s) informed/updated as needed.
  • Interact with tenants, engineers, and contractors while carrying out maintenance tasks.
  • Follow safety protocols and use PPE for all tasks; ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFC, NFPA regulations at all properties; promote safe working environments by reporting hazards and participating in safety audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds; perform physically demanding tasks such as stooping, crouching, and kneeling.
