Job summary

Vision Companies is seeking skilled Maintenance Technicians to sustain the upkeep of our residential communities. Responsibilities include electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs to keep properties in top condition.

We prize a strong work ethic, safety adherence, and exceptional resident service. Full-time roles include PTO, holidays, insurance, and a 401(k) with company match. Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with on-call rotations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Strong time management skills.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently or in a team.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• On-call rotation and occasional weekends/holidays may be required.
• Must pass drug test and background check.
• Extensive HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliance repair experience required.
• HVAC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance and repair across properties: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and grounds.
• Inspect vacant units and prepare for new residents.
• Provide excellent service to current and prospective residents.
• Maintain supplies and equipment inventory.
• Report unusual or extraordinary circumstances to management.
• Maintain professional appearance and comply with safety policies.
• Adhere to OSHA standards and company safety policies.
• Stay informed of management policies.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that the apartment community looks its very best at all times and operates smoothly by performing a variety of tasks including, but not limited to: electrical, light carpentry, HVAC, and plumbing.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible for the daily repair and upkeep of all properties in the portfolio, including general maintenance, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, finish work, and grounds.
• Inspect vacant units and prepare for new residents.
• Provide exceptional service to current, future, and past residents at all times.
• Provide care, maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment.
• Report unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the properties or residents.
• Maintain the required uniform and ensure a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
• Stay informed of and operate within OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety policies at all times.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of management company policies.

HOURS: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

FLSA STATUS: Full-time, non-exempt employee

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school education or equivalent is required; bachelor’s degree is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask while working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with strong attention to detail.
• Strong time management skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instruction and to work independently and in a team environment.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to regularly participate in on-call rotation, and occasionally work weekends, overtime hours or some time on a holiday.
• Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and criminal background check.
• Extensive experience with HVAC repair and maintenance, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and appliance repair required.
• HVAC certification preferred.
