Job summary

Vesuvius USA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to provide on-site technical support, troubleshoot and repair equipment, and perform routine preventative maintenance. You will manage installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks while recognizing deficiencies and recommending solutions.

Applicants should have a high school diploma and 2 years in assembly or industrial maintenance, with basic wiring, plumbing, carpentry, and electronics skills, and the ability to read technical drawings

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 2 years assembly or industrial maintenance experience.
• Steel industry experience a plus.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings/blueprints.
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, electricity and electronics.
• Knowledge of motor/part replacement and equipment testing.
• Strong reading/writing and basic computer skills.

This role diagnoses technical problems or errors and works to determine proper solutions. The Maintenance Mechanic also manages on-site activities such as installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks. Able to recognize equipment operational deficiencies and make recommendations for repairs.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma is required.2 years assembly experience or industrial maintenance experience. Steel industry experience is a plus.Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints.Good mechanical aptitude to evaluate mechanical problems, outlines requirements, plan projects, and solve problems.Basic working knowledge of basic wiring, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, electricity, and electronicsBasic mechanical skills: motor replacement, mechanical part replacement, testing of repaired equipment for the service of associated refractory application equipment.Requires good reading, writing, and mechanical aptitude.Basic computer skills

Physical Requirements

• Some local travel as neededContinuously stand, stoop, bend, kneel, reach, push/pull, etc.Use hands/arms to pick and carry product and operate required equipment.Lift objects up to 35 lbs.
