With supervision, the Fleet Technician I is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all Mobile Storage rental fleet equipment, including containers, ground level offices, office trailers, and / or modular buildings. It is the responsibility of the Fleet Technician I to perform all cleaning and maintenance tasks in a safe manner in accordance with company standards. The Fleet Technician I must also be capable of effectively performing all duties of an Equipment Associate.

What you’ll do :

• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Mobile Storage quality standards.
• Perform basic maintenance and repairs, including removing and repairing flooring, tiles, roofs, walls, frames, doors, leaks, caulking, windows, screens, painting, filters / dampers, replacing skins and trim, tagging equipment, and installing/removing UR decals and equipment numbers.
• Hook mobile office to power source.
• Check tire pressure and lugs.
• Complete assignments on time and within budget, documented on Work Orders.
• Complete necessary documentation (work order, etc.).
• Travel to customer sites to set office trailers and assist CDL A Drivers when needed.
• Complete equipment modifications in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and building codes.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of shop, yard, tools, and supplies following Mobile Storage and United Rentals 5S guidelines.
• Store tools, supplies, and VAPs properly and securely.
• Keep yard organized and free of debris.
• Advise supervisor of supply needs.
• Perform inbound and outbound equipment inspections and processing following Rental Flow procedures.
• Operate forklifts safely.
• Show and exhibit fleet to customers when needed.
• Safely install and uninstall VAPs according to reservation requirements.

Requirements :

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Related maintenance experience is a plus.
• Basic verbal and written skills.
• Construction knowledge and background.
• Teamwork and customer service skills.
• Time management skills.
• Ability to utilize required information technology.
• Working knowledge of heavy equipment, tools, and warranty processes.
• Accurately record time and materials used.
• Lift up to 45 lbs.
