Job description

The Break Time Maintenance Technician will perform all related maintenance and construction s ervice work on Break Time Convenience Stores, install equipment at company locations, and perform inventory cycle counts as directed. Assuring safety standards are met which comply with all company, local, City, State and Federal guidelines is of the utmost importance for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a crew during installation of petroleum handling equipment and associated equipment at company locations following direction of more experienced personnel
  • Conduct service, maintenance, and basic repair work on car wash machinery, food service equipment, beverage dispensing equipment and building systems equipment as directed by supervisor or maintenance administrator
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair system and equipment issues as assigned
  • Operate in a safe manner at all times according to company safety procedures
  • Power wash and perform manual cleaning with chemicals
  • Paint buildings, indoors and outdoors, as required
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as directed
  • Perform after-hours emergency service when required
  • Travel to Break Time locations throughout the state to perform assigned job responsibilities Maintain inventory of parts and equipment
  • Support and understand company policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain current knowledge of all products and services offered by company
  • Communicate any issues as they relate to safety or efficiencies to supervisor for both trucks and equipment
  • Maintain service vehicle, tools, and equipment in a neat, clean, and operational condition
  • Follow posted work schedule and adhere to proper clocking procedures to accurately reflect hours worked
  • All MFA Oil employees are expected to know and adhere to company and position specific policies and procedures. While this job description contains the primary duties of the position, employees may be expected to perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license required, CDL preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot building and equipment maintenance issues
  • Ability to work under timelines and pressure
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Requires physical strength and dexterity to walk, stand, bend, climb, reach, stoop, twist and lift/carry 100 pounds and capacity to work more than 20 feet above the ground with the aid of a ladder, lift or bucket truck
  • Vision, hearing, speech, and ability to detect odors
  • Job requires contact with hazardous materials, driving and working in adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to work scheduled overtime and be available for on-call rotation for emergency overtime when the need arises by responding to overtime call outs before and after standard scheduled hours of work
  • Frequent statewide travel. Occasional overnight travel may be required as service locations, need, and travel distances change
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate with customers, coworkers, and supervisors
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Ability to meet Company requirements, including successful background and MVR check, and drug test

Preferred Skills

  • Training and/or experience in petroleum fuel system or food service equipment maintenance
  • Basic plumbing skills, electrical, and carpentry skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and work at a fast pace
  • Ability to set priorities and goals and develop plans for achieving them
