Job summary

ACHIEVE is seeking a Maintenance Technician Level 1 to join our mission-driven team in Broome County. This full-time role may include evenings, weekends, and on-call response as needed.

Pay ranges from $18.50 to $24.00 per hour, with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement, life and disability coverage, voluntary plans, and generous PTO. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid NY State driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift and assist with up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair residential appliances.
• Install cabinets, shelving, doors, windows, and related items.
• Perform preventative maintenance on agency buildings, equipment, and systems.
• Identify deficiencies and report complex issues per NYS Building Code.
• Paint interior and exterior surfaces as needed.
• Maintain grounds and perform snow removal.
• Move furniture and assist with setup of equipment.
• Load and unload equipment, supplies, and materials.

The Maintenance Technician Level 1's specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform installation, service, and repair of:
• Residential appliances
• Cabinets, shelving, doors, windows, screens, and locks
• Flooring, walls, roofs, and furniture
• Plumbing fixtures (sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, drain lines)
• Heating and air conditioning units
• Electrical wiring, communication lines, and related systems
• Diagnose and repair common and repetitive mechanical or structural issues with minimal supervision
• Perform preventative maintenance on agency buildings, equipment, and systems
• Identify deficiencies and complete repairs in compliance with NYS Building Code and NFPA Life Safety Code; report complex issues requiring advanced repair
• Prepare surfaces and perform interior and exterior painting
• Complete general grounds maintenance, including lawn care and snow removal
• Conduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds, reporting safety or maintenance concerns
• Maintain maintenance logs, records, and documentation related to work orders, repairs, and materials
• Assist with moving furniture, equipment setup, and general facility needs
• Load and unload equipment, supplies, and materials
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid NY State driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the agency's insurance carrier require
• Ability to lift and assist with up to 50 pounds (including transfers and physical support)
