Job summary

Yugo is hiring a Maintenance Technician in Cincinnati. You will handle repairs and preventive maintenance across the property, respond to resident requests, and support daily operations while adhering to safety standards.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of maintenance experience (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and a high school diploma. EPA Type I certification and pool maintenance certification are preferred where local regulations require them.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of maintenance experience including HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient with technology and adaptable to online systems.
  • EPA Type I certification preferred.
  • Pool maintenance certification preferred where required by local regulation.
  • Carbon literacy certification or willingness to undertake training.

Responsibilities

  • Complete resident work orders promptly with high-quality repairs.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies with excellent service.
  • Perform plumbing, electrical, painting, appliance repair, carpentry, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, equipment, and common areas.
  • Maintain appearance, safety, and functionality of property and spaces.
  • Prepare vacant units for new residents per company standards.
  • Maintain pools, spas, and related equipment per local rules.
  • Participate in on-call and after-hours maintenance as scheduled.
  • Manage inventory for tools and supplies and keep storage organized.
  • Follow OSHA guidelines and safety training; participate in safety meetings.
  • Communicate with maintenance leadership and property management about needs.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure quality work.
  • Maintain professional relationships with residents, team members, and vendors.
  • Assist with additional maintenance, operational, and property improvement projects.
  • Able to lift 50+ pounds and work in varying weather and noise levels.

As the Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and upkeep of the entire property. Acting as a key liaison between residents and management, you will provide exceptional service and maintain the community's value by conducting thorough assessments and performing necessary repairs. Your role is essential in delivering a high-quality living experience for residents while upholding the standards of the property.

Reporting into the Maintenance Supervisor, here’s what you’ll be doing!

  • Complete resident work orders efficiently and professionally, ensuring timely, high-quality repairs and maintenance services.
  • Respond promptly to resident maintenance requests, concerns, and emergencies while providing excellent customer service and follow-up communication.
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, painting, appliance repair, carpentry, and other property maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, equipment, and common areas to identify and resolve maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Maintain the overall appearance, cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the property and community spaces.
  • Prepare vacant units for new residents by completing inspections, repairs, and turn activities according to company standards.
  • Maintain pools, spas, and related equipment at applicable properties while ensuring compliance with local certification and safety requirements.
  • Participate in on-call and after-hours emergency maintenance response as scheduled.
  • Maintain inventory levels for tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies while ensuring storage areas remain organized and secure.
  • Follow OSHA guidelines, company safety standards, and preventative maintenance procedures while participating in ongoing safety training and meetings.
  • Communicate regularly with maintenance leadership and property management regarding work orders, property conditions, and operational needs.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors as directed to ensure quality work and compliance with company standards.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive working relationships with residents, team members, and vendors.
  • Assist with additional maintenance, operational, and property improvement projects as needed to support community operations.
  • May occasionally work near mechanical equipment, at elevated heights, or around fumes and chemicals, and must be able to lift and move items weighing 50 pounds or more while working in varying weather conditions and moderate noise levels.
