Uptown Rental Properties is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep of our historic residential properties in Downtown Cincinnati. This role is responsible for completing routine and emergency maintenance tasks, preparing apartments for turnover, and ensuring a top-tier resident experience.
As a Maintenance Technician, you will collaborate closely with property management, respond to work orders, and maintain the character and functionality of our unique, historic buildings. You'll receive company-provided tools, vehicle, uniforms, and ongoing training to grow your career.
Key ResponsibilitiesApartment Turnover & General MaintenancePrepare 10–15 apartments per month for new residents, including cleaning, painting, and minor repairs.
Troubleshoot and complete basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance issues.
Maintain building systems and fixtures to ensure compliance with all safety and building codes.
Perform preventative maintenance, unit inspections, landscaping, and janitorial work as needed.
Prioritize and complete maintenance requests using a mobile app.
Collaborate with property managers to plan daily tasks based on urgency, skill requirements, and location.
Communicate status updates and escalate complex issues when needed.
Create and update work orders during regular hours and on-call shifts.
Communicate with vendors for tasks outside the internal scope and monitor service completion.
Assist with tracking and collecting necessary materials or tools to complete assignments efficiently.
Serve as the primary contact for residents during work order visits and on-call weeks.
Communicate professionally to inform residents of repair progress and ensure satisfaction.
Represent Uptown Rental Properties with a courteous, team-first attitude at all times.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
1+ year experience in maintenance, make-ready, or related field
Proficient in using hand tools and mobile work order systems (iPhone app)
Comfortable with moderate to heavy physical demands (lifting 50–100+ lbs, climbing ladders, standing for extended periods)
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
Detail-oriented and organized with a proactive mindset
