Job summary

Parkridge Valley is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support our healthcare facilities with skilled trades including painting, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC tasks. The role involves installing and repairing equipment, maintaining building systems, and ensuring safety and compliance in a patient-care environment.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of experience as a painter or general mechanic, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driving license.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on hospital equipment.
  • Maintain air handlers, exhaust and supply fans, patient beds, generators.
  • Inspect and repair plumbing fixtures to support heating, water, gas and drainage.
  • Construct, repair, and maintain furniture, partitions, doors, windows, and carpentry.
  • Paint surfaces and decorate interior/exterior as required.
  • Keep preventive maintenance records and perform grounds work.

Job Summary And Qualifications

We are seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our healthcare team. Your primary function is to perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, plumbing, carpentry and heating/air conditioning tasks, installing and repairing equipment and maintaining building and grounds as assigned. You will utilize your knowledge of relevant building codes; knowledge of the materials, tools and techniques of carpentry, plumbing maintenance or HVAC trade. You will work with a phenomenal team that cares like family and works together in a collaborative manner.

  • Install, repair and perform preventive maintenance on various equipment in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, maintenance schedule and manufacturer specifications using hand and power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Maintain and repair air handlers, exhaust fans, supply fans, patient beds, generator and other various equipment.
  • Inspect, install, repair and replace pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures to maintain the heating, water, gas and draining systems.
  • Construct, repair and maintain furniture, wall partitions, cabinets, doors windows, building framework and related carpentry duties using hand and power tools.
  • Measure and cut to size floor tiles. Formica counter tops, ceiling tiles when installing or replacing items.
  • Prepare surface and apply coats of paint, varnish, stains, or enamels to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of the hospital.
  • Perform grounds work as requested and maintenance and repair of landscaping sprinkler system components.
  • Keep up to date preventive maintenance records.
Education

Required – High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience

Required – Minimum 2 years experience as a painter or general mechanic.

Preferred – Minimum 2 years previous experience in a commercial environment.

Required- Valid active driving license. Must not exceed license points as outlined in the company’s Driver Safety Policy.
