Job summary

J. R. COLE INDUSTRIES in Charlotte seeks a Plant Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain production and facility equipment.

This first-shift, self-directed role provides preventive maintenance and rapid response to equipment failures to minimize downtime. Responsibilities include troubleshooting production assets (printing presses, converting equipment), basic facilities maintenance, and coordinating with vendors for advanced repairs.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical repair background.
• Repair experience with flexographic printing presses is a plus.
• Experience with servo-driven machinery is a plus.
• Basic electrical tasks (motor replacement, fuse changes, switch replacement).
• Strong understanding/command of Preventive Maintenance systems.
• Solid experience with a variety of shop tools for repairing machine parts.
• Good communication skills with production employees, contractors, and OEM repair staff.
• Organized, maintains a clean shop.
• Ability to work overtime where production needs require.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all production assets, including printing and converting equipment.
• Perform basic facilities maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate with external vendors for advanced facilities maintenance/repair including building HVAC and security/alarm systems.
• Carry out other technical duties as required.

Job description

J. R. COLE INDUSTRIES is expanding our maintenance staff and searching for a Plant Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain production and facility equipment at its 100,000sf Manufacturing Plants. This position will provide Preventive Maintenance activities and troubleshoot equipment failures to minimize production asset downtime, as well as basic facility maintenance.

This will be a self-directed first-shift position providing the primary maintenance response to the plant site.

Position responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all production assets, primarily consisting of:
  • Web flexo and/or sheetfed offset printing assets
  • Diecutting, slitting and other converting assets
  • Ancillary printing support equipment
  • Coordinate repair activities with OEM technicians as appropriate/warranted
• Basic facilities maintenance activities
• Coordinate with external vendors for advanced facilities maintenance/repair including:
  • Building HVAC
  • Security and alarm systems
• Other technical duties as required.

Position located in Charlotte at one of our two plants just off Westinghouse Blvd. at either 10911 Granite St, or 10708 Granite St.
