Job summary

Jim Riehl's Friendly Automotive Group is seeking a Quick Lube Service Technician to perform fluid checks and basic maintenance at our Ford dealership location. You will inspect belts, filters, oil, and other fluid levels, and assist with routine servicing in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with automotive diagnostics and working with power tools is preferred. High school diploma or GED is required, and Ford certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Ford Certification is a plus (not required).
• Knowledge of automobiles and basic maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Test to ensure systems and components are secure and functioning.
• Identify problems and isolate faulty systems or parts.
• Drive the vehicle for test runs to verify repairs.
• Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
• Repair or replace worn parts before failure.
• Use power tools and diagnostic equipment for tasks.

This role will mainly be focused on fluid checks and basic maintenance. Typically, a Quick Lube Service Technician will change a vehicle's oil, check the transmission fluid and other fluid levels, inspect various belts and filters, and check air , levels and gauges. Quick Lube Service Technician Responsibilities:

• Test to check whether systems and components are secure and working properly
• Isolate the systems or components that might have caused the problem
• Drive the vehicle for testing purposes
• Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles
• Repair or replace worn parts ahead of the vehicle's breakdown or damage
• Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform various tasks

Quick Lube Service Technician Requirements:

• Ford Certification is a plus
• Previous experience at a Ford dealership is a plus
• Ability to identify the problem quickly
• Knowledge of automobiles
• Effective analytical and communication skills
• Strong reading, computer, and mathematics skills
• Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
• Comfortable operating electronic diagnostic equipment
• High school diploma or GED
• Technical degree preferred
• ASE certifications preferred
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills
