Responsibilities

• Repair and install commercial kitchen equipment and refrigeration units.
• Operate company vehicles to transport tools and equipment.
• Respond to maintenance requests with safety and operational continuity.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, parts, and maintenance activities.
• Assist with construction projects by providing mechanical support and ensuring safety.

HH Red Stone, a rapidly expanding Property Management Company, is searching for a Maintenance Technician to oversee our property in Champaign, IL. If you have a strong background in maintenance trades and at least 3 years of experience in Multi-Family Housing, we want to hear from you. Your attention to detail, ability to multitask, and collaborative management style will make you an ideal candidate for this role.

Duties

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems, HVAC units, refrigeration equipment, kitchen appliances, and other building systems to ensure optimal operation.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems using schematics and technical manuals.
• Conduct appliance repair and installation tasks for various commercial appliances including kitchen equipment and refrigeration units.
• Operate company vehicles safely to transport tools, parts, or equipment as needed for maintenance tasks.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or management, prioritizing safety and operational continuity.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, parts used, and scheduled maintenance activities in compliance with operational standards.
• Assist with construction projects or upgrades by providing mechanical support and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in repairing mechanical systems and equipment maintenance.
• Proficiency in reading schematics, technical diagrams, and HVAC & appliance technology manuals.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC system repair, air conditioning units, refrigeration systems, and kitchen equipment maintenance.
• Service technician experience with appliance installation and troubleshooting across various appliances.
• Knowledge of maintenance, repair & operations (MRO) practices to ensure efficient facility management.
• Ability to operate construction tools safely and contribute effectively during building upgrades or renovations.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and vendors.
• Leadership qualities that enable guidance during team projects or training sessions related to equipment repair or safety procedures.
