Job summary

Riviana Foods Inc. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to ensure continuous, safe and efficient operation of milling and parboiling equipment at our Carlisle facility. You will perform preventive/m preventive maintenance, diagnose faults, and support maintenance work orders daily.

The role requires knowledge of motor controls, sensors, gearboxes, and strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on safety and quality in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of industrial maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of motor controls, sensors, and gearboxes, including their operation, maintenance, and repair.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Understand the basic principles of industrial maintenance and can read blueprints/schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain and repair milling and parboiling equipment.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment, electrical control panels, conveyors, pumps, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Clean, lubricate and adjust parts and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical/mechanical faults in equipment.
• Input and retrieve maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
• Communicate knowledge about process/equipment performance to team and management.
• Follow GMP, HACCP, OSHA and all company policies and procedures.
• Keep work areas organized and safe.

About the Role

Maintenance Mechanics are responsible for general facility and equipment maintenance as assigned to ensure continuous, safe, effective and efficient performance of industrial equipment to meet daily operating plans with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations. Plant maintenance mechanics perform preventive and repair maintenance to meet operational requirements and other duties as assigned by management

What You’ll Do:

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial milling and parboiling equipment
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on milling and parboiling equipment, electrical control panels, conveyors, pumps, pneumatic, processing systems, industrial dryers, etc.
• Clean, lubricate and adjust parts and equipment
• Diagnose and repair electrical/mechanical faults in equipment
• Perform equipment installations support function
• Input and retrieve maintenance work orders in a timely manner
• Communicates knowledge and observation regarding process and/or equipment performance to other maintenance personnel, operations and management
• Comply with all internal and external policies, procedures, and regulations
• Keep work areas organized and sanitary according to set standards
• Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP, OSHA, and all company policies and procedures
• Responsible for own personal safety and safety of others in working area

What We’re Looking For:

• High school or equivalent through GED program
• 1+ years of industrial maintenance preferred
• Have knowledge of motor controls, sensors, and gearboxes, including their operation, maintenance, and repair.
• Have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Understand the basic principles of industrial maintenance.
• Can maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment and conveyor systems.
• Have knowledge of installing, maintaining, and repairing pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including water, steam, air, and natural gas systems.
• Have strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to identify the root cause of equipment issues and determine the best solutions.
• Can safely use the appropriate tools and equipment to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair machinery and systems.
• Can read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
• Can read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and manufacturer instructions to complete maintenance and repair tasks.
