POSITION SUMMARY
Performs major, minor, repairs and preventative maintenance work to ensure hotel maintenance quality standards are achieved and maintained.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Clean and maintain the pool area and exercise room
- Keep grounds clear of visible trash and clean the parking lot, sidewalks, breezeways, stairs, and entrance thoroughly, including weed removal
- Report any problems that would interfere with guest satisfaction
- Keep the storage area clean every day and lock all storage areas before clocking out
- Verify that all exterior lights are working properly
- Report and fix any safety hazards throughout the hotel
- Ensure that the stockroom has sufficient inventory to last at least two weeks
- Maintain hand and power tools and equipment and keep them in good repair
- Assist in the repair, maintenance, and installation of irrigation systems
- Operate mowing equipment and other related equipment; and drive trucks and other essential vehicles
- Maintain an inventory of all mechanical equipment with respective maintenance schedules
- Perform routine maintenance of all mechanical elements
- Troubleshoot, recommend repairs and organize repairs of mechanical equipment
- Monitor equipment performance and repairs or coordinate repairs as appropriate
- Operate mechanical equipment safely
- Work cooperatively with others

- Deal courteously and tactfully with Granlibakken Homeowners, patrons, and guests

- Powerwash/replace siding/paint buildings at Granlibakken
- Diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of resort facilities, equipment, and systems
- Perform complex and specialized diagnosis and repair on resort facilities and related equipment, and systems including pumps, motors, compressors, piping, boilers, HVAC systems, mechanical drives, air handling units, valves, filtration devices, chemical feed systems, lighting systems/controls, and other related equipment and systems; and help with specialized and difficult tasks associated with plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical and mechanical projects
- Abide by all safety regulations and procedures
- Operation of Heavy Equipment – occasional requirement to operate a Loader, Snow Removal Equipment, Groomer and other equipment necessary to maintain the property
- Snow removal – Granlibakken maintains a snow removal contract that requires all Maintenance employees to be available on snow days to help with snow removal
- Generally, a snow day is called when at least 3" of snow has accumulated on the roads and pathways
- Perform general maintenance functions related specifically to the upkeep of resort facilities, systems, and equipment. Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience: Minimum of one (1) electric and carpenter experience preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Completion of a craft apprenticeship or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience preferred
- An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred
- Strong communication skills required for guest and co-worker interactions
- Hospitality experience preferred
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry equipment for extended periods of time
- Ability to walk between multiple buildings throughout the shift
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor settings as required
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, including cold, snow, and ice during winter months
- Fast-paced hospitality environment with frequent guest interaction
WORK SCHEDULE AND HOURS
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Schedule may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Overtime may be required based on business needs
- Work schedules are subject to change based on operational demands
COMPENSATION
Pay range for this position: $22.00 – $24.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
