Responsibilities

Beginning as a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for electrical, mechanical troubleshooting, and repair for production and support equipment. There you will begin to understand and utilize safe work practices and maintain high standards of integrity and professionalism all while learning how to become a successful Maintenance Technician. Items include but are not limited to:

  • Follows all Company policies regarding safety, quality, and attendance. Performs duties in a safe manner and reports all observed safety hazards to management, taking a proactive role in correcting these conditions.
  • Proactively troubleshoots, repairs, and corrects mechanical, electrical, and process problems to ensure capability of production equipment.
  • Assist in troubleshooting using PLC logic as a tool.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repairing electrical breakdown of AC / DC drives and inverters, including programming and start-up configuration/tuning.
  • Assist in designing electrical circuits on existing equipment for equipment/safety upgrades.
  • Assist in the design/installation of electromechanical upgrades to existing equipment, including DC to AC upgrades and PLC installation to replace discrete controls.
  • Operate meters, power supplies, service monitors, test fixtures, and understand their use and function.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all plant operating systems and access records of diagrams & schematics.
  • Work with and help identify contractors for repair, installation, removal, and/or upgrade of equipment.
  • Provide technical support for production.
  • Regularly inspect production lines and support equipment, performing necessary repairs and upgrades during preventative maintenance cycles.
  • Operate hand tools and small power tools, including cutting small parts.
  • Lead assembly, installation, disassembly, and demolition of production and support equipment as required.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, meeting plant and department housekeeping standards. May be assigned additional housekeeping responsibilities as needed.
  • Maintain building and grounds.
  • Participate in employee-driven teams addressing scrap, quality, safety, or other production issues.
  • Be able to complete CEW within the first 3 months of employment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Education and/or Experience

Education:High School diploma or GED is required.

Experience:In addition to the educational requirements, a minimum of 2 years of work experience in manufacturing maintenance, including troubleshooting and repair of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, is preferred. Experience with blown film manufacturing and converting equipment is a plus.
