Job summary

Central Package & Display is seeking a 1st Shift Production Technician for our corrugated and rigid box plant. The role involves maintenance of production equipment, troubleshooting electrical and control systems, and performing preventative maintenance.

Union membership is available after 30 working days and the position offers competitive wages and benefits. Responsibilities include mechanical/electrical repairs, installation of new machinery, and supporting plant systems.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical, electrical, and building maintenance skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot machine breakdowns including PLC/HMI, data links, electricity and electronics.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and repairing corrugated/folding carton equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance including basic plumbing, electrical, and repairs.
• Adjust, repair, and maintain corrugated and rigid box equipment; install new equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and perform complex repairs on mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Work overtime as needed and maintain reliable attendance.

Job description

Corrugated & Rigid Box Plant - Opening for 1st Shift Production Technician

• Union Manufacturing Plant - join the union after 30 working days
• Manufacture corrugated and rigid box packaging and displays
• Full-time position available for 1st Shift - 6:00 A.M - 2:30 P.M.
• Competitive Wages and benefits - Starting Wage Range $27.40-$38.82 depending on skill level and prior work experience.
• Responsible for general maintenance work in the facility such as basic plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
• Responsible for adjusting, repairing and maintaining corrugated and folding carton equipment in our production plant. This includes performing routine and extensive preventative maintenance, basic and complex repairs, and installation of new corrugated and rigid box equipment, as well as current plant systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair machine breakdowns to include mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, programmable logic controllers, human machine interface, data links, electricity and electronics.

• Essential functions include the ability to work full-time hours, with overtime when required.

• Excellent to advanced mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, electronics, and building maintenance skills and knowledge.

• Working knowledge to excellent skill level in programmable logic controllers, human machine interface, data links, and production/shipping machinery and equipment.

• Very strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities
• Must be able to perform frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Must be flexible with job duties assigned. The tasks assigned can and will change multiple times per day.
• Must be able to stand and walk short distances most of the shift.
• Must be able to perform frequent bending, stretching, squatting, reaching, climbing, pushing, & pulling for various tasks

• Good attendance and work ethic required.
• Prior experience in corrugated or folding carton maintenance preferred.
