Clothesline Cleaners | Boise & Meridian, Idaho

Pay: $19–$23/hour based on experience and capabilities. Candidates with broader technical skills may be considered above the posted range. Plus performance-bonus eligibility.

Hours: Approximately 25–40 hours per week, depending on skills, availability, and the range of responsibilities you can take on.

Location: Based primarily at our Orchard production plant in Boise, supporting all Clothesline locations.

Like fixing things and figuring out how they work?

Clothesline Cleaners is a growing local company looking for a resourceful, hand‑on Maintenance Technician to take care of the equipment, facilities, utility systems, and vehicles that keep our business running.

This is a great role for someone who likes variety and wants the opportunity to keep expanding what they know.

One day you might troubleshoot a production machine or steam problem; another you might service a van, repair a door, find a water leak, organize parts, or figure out why a utility bill increased.

We don't expect you to know every system we have on day one. We do expect you to be mechanically capable, comfortable making repairs, curious enough to figure things out, and proud of doing work correctly.

What You'll Own

Equipment & Plant Systems — Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair our boilers, high-pressure steam system, dry-cleaning and laundry equipment, presses, dryers, washers, pumps, compressed air, vacuum, cooling and water systems. This is hands‑on work, including piping, fittings, valves, traps, belts, bearings, motors, pumps and other mechanical components.

High-pressure steam is at the heart of our operation. You don't have to arrive knowing our system, but you need the mechanical ability and willingness to learn how the boilers, piping, condensate, water and production equipment work together—and become someone we can depend on to diagnose and repair them.

Facilities & Vehicles — Help take care of all Clothesline locations and our delivery vans. That can include plumbing, lighting, doors, flooring, ventilation, pressure washing, rooftop work and general repairs, along with oil changes, brakes, tires, filters, batteries and other vehicle maintenance you are equipped to handle. We use outside specialists and auto shops when appropriate, but our goal is to capably handle as much as makes sense ourselves.

Prevention & Efficiency — Don't just wait for something to break. Stay ahead of preventive maintenance, listen when operators notice something changing, investigate recurring problems, and make sure repairs are actually resolved. Help us understand and reduce electricity, natural gas and water usage by finding leaks, waste and equipment or operating issues that are costing us money.

Parts, Supplies & Organization — Help keep parts, tools and operating supplies organized and available. Notice when something is running low, help coordinate orders and pickups, put deliveries away, and help maintain a simple system everyone can follow. We're a hand‑on small business, so we all pitch in when something needs organizing, cleaning up, breaking down or taking care of.

Who We're Looking For

Your experience might come from equipment maintenance, mechanical repair, plumbing, HVAC, automotive work, building maintenance, construction, another trade—or a combination of hands‑on experience.

What matters is that you can actually fix things.

You should be comfortable using tools and doing mechanical repairs yourself, including work such as replacing piping, valves and components. You can follow manuals and diagrams, research an unfamiliar problem, find the right parts, and work through a problem instead of immediately giving up or calling someone else.

We're especially interested in someone who:

  • Enjoys troubleshooting and understanding the cause, not just the symptom.
  • Takes initiative and notices problems before they become emergencies.
  • Is resourceful and cost‑conscious without taking unsafe shortcuts.
  • Can work independently and follow things through to completion.
  • Is organized and willing to help wherever their skills are useful.
  • Wants to keep learning and become capable of handling more over time.

Dry‑cleaning or commercial‑laundry experience is helpful, but not required. A valid driver's license and ability to drive company vehicles are required.

Hours, Flexibility & Opportunity

We anticipate approximately 25–40 hours per week.

The range is intentional. The broader your capabilities and availability, the more opportunities there are for hours. Someone who can help across equipment, vehicles, facilities, preventive maintenance, utilities and projects can become an extremely valuable part of our operation.

Some maintenance needs to happen around production or vehicle schedules, so flexibility for occasional early mornings, evenings or weekends is important.

When everything is running well, there's still plenty to improve. Preventive maintenance, facility projects, vehicle work, utility savings, organization and improvements are all part of the role.

Performance Bonus Opportunity

This position is eligible for additional performance bonuses based on measurable results in three areas:

  • Vehicle repair & maintenance
  • Store/plant repair & maintenance
  • Utilities

These are measured as a percentage of sales against established targets.

Safety & Judgment

We want someone capable and resourceful who can do a lot themselves. We also expect good judgment.

Work must be done safely and correctly. We use qualified outside specialists when licensing, specialized equipment or expertise is required, or when it's simply the smarter solution.
