Job summary

US Foods is seeking a maintenance technician to uphold and repair production and facility equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, while maintaining safety and proper documentation. The role is on 1st shift with a Monday–Friday schedule and hourly pay.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on production/facility equipment (forklifts, reach trucks, electric pallet jacks).
• Review equipment reports, record actions taken, and maintain repair logs per USF policy.
• Complete documentation for equipment-related activities (forms, PM logs).
• Conduct PMs with proper documentation per policy.
• Maintain safety in accordance with Lock Out/Tag Out and other guidelines.

Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of production/facility equipment. Work on other assignments as designated by management. Maintain proper Hazmat documentation. Ensure preventive maintenance is fulfilled per schedules.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Perform necessary repairs and maintenance to all production/facility equipment i.e., FORKLIFTS, REACH TRUCKS, ELECTRIC PALLET JACKS to ensure that adequate machinery is available for day and night operations.
• Review any equipment reports submitted by associates, record actions/repairs taken, and maintain a repair log per USF policy.
• Complete all applicable documentation for equipment-related activities (assembly forms, disassembly forms, etc.).
• Perform PMs (Preventative Maintenance) on equipment, and maintain PM log with proper documentation, per USF policy.
• Comply with all USF and government guidelines regarding safety when working on equipment (i.e. Lock Out/Tag Out, placarding, required documentation, safe work environment, etc.)
• Maintain and secure the battery-charging area, batteries, and other equipment contained therein.
• Responsible for company tools, replacement parts, and maintenance equipment used in the performance of job duties, including inventory maintenance, safe operation, proper storage, and security of tool area.
• If authorized, may purchase tools and other equipment needs from local vendors to perform required duties.

Qualifications

Education/Training

• High School education or equivalent preferred;
• Additional mechanic training or a trade school degree is preferred.

Related Experience

A minimum of six months of previous mechanic experience is required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of equipment repair and operation
• Able to repair and overhaul warehouse & production equipment
• Welding ability
• able to read and write legibly;
• able to follow orders;
• basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide);
• able to work with little direct supervision

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.

The expected base rate for this role is between $28.00 and $30.00 per hour.
