Gregory Packaging, Inc. in Bethlehem, PA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our high-speed filling, packaging, processing, and material handling equipment running.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, and support plant upgrades in a fast-paced, automated environment. The role requires hands-on problem solving, the ability to work across all shifts, and clear communication with quality and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge in material handling equipment mechanics, electromechanics, or auto-diesel mechanics.
• Aseptic experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on all production and plant equipment to protect machinery from wear and degradation.
• Clean, lubricate, calibrate, and repair parts and systems, including pneumatic systems, and keep equipment in safe working condition.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical components on filling, packaging, processing, and material handling equipment.
• Respond to, record, and track all emergency maintenance calls, and work to find the root cause.
• Support and help manage electrical and mechanical projects and equipment upgrades.
• Assist the Quality department in keeping the plant audit-ready.
• Communicate effectively and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician keeps Gregory Packaging’s high-speed, automated filling, packaging, processing, and material handling equipment running so production and quality standards are met. The technician helps implement and perform preventive maintenance on all production and plant equipment, and receives training on the plant’s high-speed filling equipment and on the mechanical and electrical systems of its material handling equipment.

Technicians keep the plant audit-ready and safe by cleaning, lubricating, calibrating, and repairing equipment, including pneumatic systems. They respond to emergency maintenance calls, track problems to their root cause, and support electrical and mechanical projects and equipment upgrades.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Able to troubleshoot and repair air valves, cylinders, bearings, sprockets, chains, gearboxes, conveyors, sensors, switches, transformers, three-phase motors, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
• Familiar with basic programmable logic controller (PLC) components.
• Able to check AC/DC voltage and resistance with a meter.
• General mechanical shop skills.
• Must provide own general hand tools; specialty tools are provided by the company.
• Strong communication and prioritization skills.
• Self-managed, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, automated environment.
• Interested in a long-term career.
