Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Hampton, VA is seeking a Reliability Specialist to help drive manufacturing excellence at our on-site plant. You will review procedures, monitor performance, analyze data, and guide actions to prevent issues, supporting the plant team to achieve quality and efficiency.

The role requires strong communication and mechanical aptitude, the ability to work independently, and availability for overtime. On-site employment with equal opportunity employer Policies.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 1 year in manufacturing or a technical role is required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills are required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.

Reliability Specialist who has a demonstrated ability to achieve results, as well as the passion to put that experience to work to lead activities and support the plant/location team to achieve manufacturing excellence. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:


Review and update department processes and instructions.


Based on directions provided by engineering and knowledge developed on the job, determine appropriate actions to be applied by monitoring performance, analyze data and identify trends to predict potential issues.


Provide staff with rework instructions and guidance


Perform activities as assigned to provide support during hours when engineers are not present.


Skills & Abilities


Strong oral and written communication skills. Capable of effective communication with all levels of the plant personnel.


Must be self-motivated, an independent thinker, and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision


Anticipated Pay Range: $60k - $70k per year. *Pay rates within this range are determined and based on various factors including experience, education, certifications, etc .

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:


High SchoolDiplomaor GED


At least 1 year experience in manufacturing oratechnical role


Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills


Proficient in the use of Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook)


Must be available and willing to work overtime as needed


Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:


Some coursework towards an Engineering or Technical degree preferred.


Previous experience with dimensional measurement devices (calipers, CMM UT, Pincher Gauges, etc.)


CAD and blueprint interpretation experience


Familiarity with FPI, X-ray, and V isual I nspection
