Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and basic repairs on production and facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control-system issues under supervision.
• Support coating, laminating, and converting equipment and related systems.
• Respond to equipment issues promptly and communicate with operators and maintenance staff.
• Document work in the CMMS, and maintain clean work areas.
• Follow lockout/tagout, PPE, OSHA, and ISO requirements.

Job description

We are a growing manufacturer specializing in coating, laminating, and converting foam and nonwoven materials for cargo-securement systems. We are seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician who brings strong mechanical aptitude, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to learn and grow within our operation.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician supports safe, reliable operation of our production and facility equipment by completing preventive maintenance, assisting with troubleshooting and repairs, and responding to equipment issues. This position is well suited for someone with a practical mechanical foundation who works well with others, learns quickly, adapts to changing priorities, and takes ownership of assigned work.

A candidate does not need to enter the role with advanced knowledge of every system listed below. We are willing to train someone who demonstrates sound judgment, initiative, reliability, and the ability to apply feedback.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and basic repairs on production and facility equipment.
• Assist with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, and control-system issues under appropriate supervision.
• Support coating, laminating, and converting equipment, along with motors, pumps, conveyors, rollers, air compressors, forklifts, and related systems.
• Respond to production equipment issues promptly and communicate clearly with operators, supervisors, and other maintenance personnel.
• Use schematics, manuals, work instructions, and job aids to complete assigned work; ask questions when information or direction is unclear.
• Document completed work, findings, follow-up needs, and parts usage accurately in the computerized maintenance management system.
• Maintain tools, spare parts, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
• Participate in equipment installation, testing, commissioning, and continuous-improvement projects as assigned.
• Follow lockout tagout, personal protective equipment, OSHA, company safety, and applicable ISO requirements at all times.
• Develop technical knowledge through hands-on training, formal instruction, coaching, and independent learning.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude through employment, trade school, military service, automotive or equipment repair, construction, facilities work, or comparable hands-on experience.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and learn established maintenance and safety procedures.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to use MaintainX or another computerized maintenance management system.

Preferred Experience

Experience in the following areas is helpful but is not required for an otherwise strong, trainable candidate:

• Manufacturing, industrial maintenance, facilities maintenance, or equipment repair.
• Motors, pumps, conveyors, bearings, rollers, plumbing, pneumatics, or fabrication.
• Industrial electrical systems, sensors, control panels, variable frequency drives, or programmable logic controllers.
• Boilers and steam systems, compressed-air systems, or powered industrial truck maintenance.
• Reading mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, technical manuals, or blueprints.
• Preventive-maintenance software, ISO-controlled documentation, or spare-parts inventory.
• English and Spanish bilingual communication.

Training and Development

The selected candidate will receive role-appropriate training and will be expected to demonstrate steady progress toward independent troubleshooting and repair. Work involving energized electrical systems, programming changes, boilers, or other specialized hazards must be performed only after the employee has been trained, qualified, and authorized.

Physical and Scheduling Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work around production equipment for extended periods.
• Comfort working in environments that may involve noise, heat, dust, or confined areas while using required protective equipment.
• Availability for occasional overtime, weekend work, or on-call support based on operational needs.
