Job summary

Koch Fertilizer's Beatrice, Nebraska facility seeks a Maintenance Technician to improve reliability and performance of industrial process equipment. In this hands-on role, you will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment using precision maintenance practices to identify opportunities for safer, more efficient operations.

This day-shift position can be four 10-hour days (Mon–Thu) or five 8-hour days (Mon–Fri).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment to achieve optimal performance using precision maintenance.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on drives, pumps, turbines, hydraulics, pneumatics, valves, gear reducers.
• Use predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration monitoring, ultrasound, and lube-oil analysis.
• Complete welding, fabrication and installs to support maintenance needs and capital projects.
• Manage daily workflow and work orders in a CMMS and collaborate with Operations.

Koch Fertilizer's Beatrice, Nebraska facility is seeking a Maintenance Technician to help improve the reliability and performance of industrial process equipment. In this hands-on role, you will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment while applying precision and predictive maintenance practices and identifying opportunities to improve how work gets done. This flexible day-shift position may work four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, or five 8-hour days, Monday through Friday. Overtime and callouts are part of the role.

Our Team

The maintenance team partners closely with Operations and the Instrumentation & Electrical discipline to identify priorities, solve equipment challenges, and support plant initiatives. Team members share knowledge, build new capabilities, and pursue safer, more reliable, and more efficient maintenance practices.

What You Will Do In Your Role

• Apply the Koch Principle Based Management philosophy to help develop the capability of the maintenance team. Drive positive and transformative culture within the team.
• Embrace and adhere to all facility safe work policies, practices, and regulations.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment to achieve optimal performance levels using precision maintenance best practices, tools, and techniques.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial drives, pumps, turbines, hydraulics, pneumatics, valves, gear reducers and other industrial process equipment.
• Use predictive maintenance technologies such as hand-held vibration monitoring, ultra-sonic detection (UE) and lube-oil analysis (MLT/MLA) on rotating equipment.
• Complete welding, fabrication and installs in the shop and field to support maintenance needs, mechanical integrity, and capital projects.
• Manage daily workflow activities and work orders utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Assist, train and partner with the Operations Dept. to identify and prioritize maintenance needs and collaborate on plant initiatives.
• Assist and cross-train with the Instrumentation & Electrical discipline for additional capabilities.
• Experiment with new technologies, systems/solutions, and workflows. Challenge the status-quo, expand the knowledge of the team, and help drive transformation within the people and processes.
• Improve, develop, and implement Maintenance process improvements and efficiencies.

The Experience You Will Bring

• Experience working in Industrial Maintenance or similar field or equivalent training in a technical field of study

Physical Requirements:

• Required to wear any or all of the following PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, goggles, hard hats, FRC, acid suits, breathing air, gloves, safety boots, respirators, Arc Flash suits, and encapsulated suits. PPE use is in accordance with the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for a given task
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
• Work in hot, cold, and inclement climate conditions
• Climb stairs, ladders, ladders on vessels and columns, ladders associated with scaffolds in excess of 100 feet

What Will Put You Ahead

• A.A.S. Degree in a Technical field. I.e., Electro-Mechanical Technology, Automotive/Diesel Technology, Welding Technology
• 3+ years of experience with Industrial or Chemical Plant maintenance
• Experience with a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
• Experience and application of safe work practices - Lock Out -Tag Out (LOTO); Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
