Job summary

Monahan Filaments, LLC in Illinois is seeking two reliable Maintenance Technicians to support our extrusion facility. You will keep extruders, quench tanks, ovens and collection reels running safely and efficiently.

This position focuses on mechanical upkeep with basic electrical trouble-shooting to minimize production downtime, performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues, and adhering to safety protocols. Shifts include nights and days on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of hands-on industrial manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Basic electrical diagnostics experience (multimeter, schematics).
• Ability to stand for long periods, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• High school diploma or GED; vocational/technical training in industrial maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and basic hydraulic issues on extrusion lines.
• Diagnose and repair basic electrical components, including heater bands and control circuits.
• Conduct preventative maintenance: lubricate moving parts and align rollers.
• Respond quickly to line stoppages, breakages, or jams to restore production.
• Adhere to safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Arc Flash, and keep the workspace clean.

Job description

We are seeking two reliable Maintenance Technicians to join our team to support our monofilament extrusion facility. You will keep our extruders, quench tanks, ovens and collection reels running safely and efficiently. This role focuses heavily on mechanical upkeep with foundational electrical trouble‑shooting to minimize production downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Equipment repair: Troubleshoot and fix mechanical, pneumatic, and basic hydraulic issues on extrusion lines
• Electrical support: Diagnose & repair basic electrical components, including replacing heater bands, checking low-voltage control circuits, &safely working with industrial power up to 480V
• Preventative maintenance: Conduct scheduled checks, lubricate moving parts, and align rollers
• Emergency response: Respond quickly to line stoppages, breakage causes or mechanical jams to restore production
• Safety compliance: Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, especially Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Arc Flash as well as maintain a clean workspace

Qualifications

• Experience: 2-4 years of hands‑on industrial manufacturing maintenance experience, ideally working with plastics processing or extrusion machinery
• Electrical skills: Demonstrated working knowledge of basic electrical diagnostics (multimeter use, reading wiring schematics, and troubleshooting single/three-phase circuits)
• Physical demands: Ability to stand for long periods, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs
• Education: High school diploma or GED; vocational or technical training in industrial maintenance is preferred
