Job summary

Air Products in Allentown seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician for the Facilities Services Team. You will troubleshoot and repair building equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and support HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems at our global headquarters.

The role requires reading schematics, using shop tools, and safely working with lifts and roofs. Candidates should have a high school diploma, relevant maintenance experience, forklift operation ability, and willingness to

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Associates degree in trades preferred but not required; 3+ years of relevant industrial maintenance experience may substitute.
  • Able to read and understand schematics and blueprints is required.
  • Comfortable accessing the roof and using extension ladders, man lifts and scissor lifts.
  • Ability to operate a Forklift is required.
  • Able to lift over 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Shift: Mon–Fri 7:30 am–3:30 pm; overtime flexibility.
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record is required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and minor repairs to building equipment (pumps, air handlers, exhaust fans, plumbing fixtures, lights, doors).
  • General building maintenance: install/repair/replace bulletin boards, office furniture, ceiling tiles, carpet tiles, appliances, signage, locks.
  • Performs routine inspections, touch-up painting and equipment assembly.
  • Repairs or modifies office/room configurations by installing modular walls, workstations, furniture, cubicle walls, doors, frames.
  • Completes personnel moves and room setups.
  • Maintains Safety Work Permit certification when required.
  • Performs basic Electro-Mechanical Technician responsibilities when qualified.
  • Assists EMTs as directed by Supervisors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our Facility Services Team at our Global Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

This position will require mechanical troubleshooting experience to maintain or repair building equipment and perform routine maintenance activities.

The Facilities Services department has responsibility for the operation and maintenance of equipment related to heating, ventilation and air conditioning, water, industrial electrical distribution, fire protection systems, sewage systems, and general building maintenance.

Additionally, services are provided to other corporate groups including moving, rearrangement of office partitions, installation of specialized equipment, etc.

Required Skills / Abilities
  • Industrial maintenance experience.
  • Read and Interpret drawings, blueprints, and other building/system schematics.
  • Experience with shop tools.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently.
  • Ability to maintain certification to issue Safety Work Permits is required.
  • Comfortable accessing the roof, using extension ladders, man lifts and scissor lifts.
Key Job Responsibilities

  • Assists EMT's when assigned by Supervisors.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Hiring Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • An Associates degree in trades is preferred but is not required. We will consider 3+ years of relevant industrial maintenance experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Able to read and understand schematics and blueprints is required.
  • Comfortable accessing the roof, using extension ladders, man lifts and scissor lifts is required.
  • Ability to operate a Forklift is required.
  • Able to lift over 50 lbs. on a consistent basis is required.
  • Availability to work Monday - Friday from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm is required.
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime is required.
  • A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.
