JBC Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician in North Ridgeville, OH to perform emergency and scheduled repairs on production equipment. You will diagnose problems, replace parts, test and adjust, and support 5S and safety initiatives.

The role requires reading manuals/schematics, basic math, and strong teamwork. Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems experience is preferred; welding is a plus. Able to lift up to 100 pounds and work varied shifts as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Formal mechanical environment training is preferred.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in a manufacturing/shipping environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provided emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
  • Read and interpret manuals, schematics and work orders to perform maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work station.
  • Support Safety Team and 5S audits.

Job description

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust
  • Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals, schematics and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • General building maintenance duties including light repair and replacement, trash management, recycling, and plumbing
  • Function as a key member of JBC Safety Team
  • Conduct 5S and Safety Audits
  • Ordering parts and tooling as needed and approved by management
  • Comply with OSHA Safety Guidelines
  • Submit CPARS to Quality as they arise to uphold our commitment to continuous improvement
  • Maintain a clean and safe work station
  • Embrace a team attitude that aligns with JBC’s Core Values
  • Follow all JBC policies and procedures
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
  • Welding and light fabrication is preferred
  • Ability to assist in improvements and a thorough understanding of mechanical devices is a plus
Education And Experience
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Formal and extensive training in mechanical environment
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing/shipping environment
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, expectations, and procedures in manufacturing

  • Ability to read and perform basic math skills
  • Strong communication skills and familiarity with working in a team-based environment is preferred
  • Ability to use a variety of tools

Physical Demands
  • Light to heavy physical effort required on a constant basis
  • Must be able to work from elevated platforms
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds
  • Required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility for an entire shift
Personal Protective Equipment
  • Safety Toe boot/shoes are required
  • Other PPE required as needed depending on scope of work
Work Schedule
  • Normal Schedule –
    • Monday thru Friday typically. Flexibility to work nights/weekends as needed.
    • Fast-paced environment, subject to numerous schedule and priority changes with little to no notice.
Work Environment
  • Variable work environment. Work is mostly conducted in the plant. Sometimes conducted outdoors with varying environmental conditions
  • Contains any number of elements including but not limited to fiberglass/insulation material, dust, fumes, and noise.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team or independently with limited supervision
