Job summary

Gestamp is seeking a Maintenance Technician Assembly 2 to troubleshoot and repair production line equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The role involves preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and close collaboration with supervisors and other departments to maximize line uptime.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance or similar.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance role.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, robotics and general electrical/mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots problems on production lines and takes timely corrective action.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and scheduled maintenance during machine service.
  • Serve as technical expert for maintaining production equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Adjust production process parameters such as robot positioning, spot welding, and press settings.
  • Follow all HSE guidelines.
  • Communicate with production and quality on issues and corrective actions with time estimates.
  • Utilize mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC skills for troubleshooting and repair.
  • Read equipment manuals and work orders to perform maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervision.

Long Description

Maintenance Technician Assembly 2

Responsible for troubleshooting problems on production lines and taking corrective action in a timely manner. Using their combination of skills and education, technicians perform regular PM´s and work closely together with their Supervisor and all other departments to help the plant to operate as efficiently as possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots problems on production lines and takes corrective action in a timely manner.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance and repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Serve as a technical expert for maintaining production equipment required to produce products with minimum downtime.
  • Ensure and make the proper adjustments of all relevant production process parameters such as, but not limited to, robot positioning, spot welding, roller hemming, adhesive application, and various press settings.
  • Perform the job safely following all HSE guidelines.
  • Communicate clearly and frequently with production and quality departments on equipment issues and anticipated corrective actions including time estimates.
  • Use technical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulics and PLC for troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or instructed from Supervision.

Any other duties deemed necessary or appropriate.

Education & Experience

  • HS diploma/GED required,
  • Associate degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or similar subject or 2+ years of experience working in an applicable manufacturing maintenance role
  • Knowledge of PLCs, robotics, as well as general knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatics and hydraulics
