Description
MINIMUM EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Certificates in Industrial Maintenance/Mechatronics, electrical or mechanical trade or related area and an associate degree in a related area preferred.


MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
  • Six (6) years of experience, four (4) of those in FedEx Industrial Maintenance or supporting similar material handling systems, demonstrating expertise in mechanical power transmission, electrical, PLC/Controls, and advanced welding/fabrication skills through job experience, military service, or education.

  • Multiple certificates and degrees may be assessed by manager and HR for relevancy to minimum qualifications and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures as directed by work orders or management.

  • Ability to identify and repair problems using sound judgment and analysis.

  • Proficiency in solving mechanical or electrical problems, including understanding engineering formulas.

  • Subject matter expertise in electrical, mechanical, and PLC/controls troubleshooting, repair, and installation across multiple components and systems.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and create electrical and mechanical schematics.

  • Ability to utilize Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software for data entry and retrieval.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills within the department and with external vendors.

  • Ability to collaborate with departments, operations, vendors, and support teams during failures or projects.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.

  • Good time management and organizational skills.

JOB CONDITIONS
  • Use of hand tools and possibly power tools.

  • Work in hot or cold temperatures.

  • May need to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and squat.
