Job summary

Milestone Retirement is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of our community’s interior and exterior. In this role you’ll handle preventative maintenance and respond to resident maintenance requests to keep the community safe.

You’ll maintain systems and equipment, including HVAC, elevators, generators, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry, while upholding a welcoming, well‑maintained environment for residents, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of related experience in building maintenance.
• Knowledge of building systems and codes (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Valid state driver’s license for vehicle travel.
• First Aid certification required.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Strong communication skills with residents and team members.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair community systems, including HVAC, elevator, fire and sprinkler equipment, generators, kitchen equipment, and emergency pull cord systems.
• Perform general maintenance projects, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and equipment repair.
• Respond to resident maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain vacated rooms, including painting, cleaning, and minor repairs.
• Ensure common areas are properly maintained, including walls, flooring, doors, and woodwork.
• Maintain positive communication with local fire marshals, building inspectors, and other regulatory agencies.
• Document safety issues and physical deficiencies according to local, state, and federal guidelines.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies, assisting management as needed.
• Foster teamwork and maintain a positive impact on residents, visitors, and coworkers.
• Report any suspected elder maltreatment or abuse to the Director of Health and Wellness, Executive Director, and/or State.
