Job summary

Advance Auto Parts in Thomson, GA is seeking a Distribution Center Maintenance I Technician to perform general and preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, structures and grounds. You will troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical components and assist with hydraulic and pneumatic systems under supervision.

The role requires basic mechanical and electrical knowledge, ability to read blueprints and MSDS, and use CMMS to manage work orders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; distribution/industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge with ability to read MSDS and safety rules.
• Experience using maintenance management software and reading blueprints or diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs on equipment.
• Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, lights, outlets, circuit breakers.
• Complete routine maintenance like changing bulbs and cleaning equipment.
• Paint, plumbing and carpentry for building and grounds maintenance.
• Assist with preventive maintenance of material handling systems and conveyors.
• Read blueprints/diagrams and follow manuals for maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions; adhere to safety guidelines.
• Use CMMS to procure parts and generate/update work orders.

Job DescriptionSummary: Distribution Center Maintenance I Technician performs general and preventive maintenance for equipment, machinery, structures and grounds.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Perform general repairs on equipmentInstall and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, lights, outlets, circuit breakers, wiring, and electrical and electronic components of equipment under proper supervisionComplete minor and routine maintenance such as changing light bulbs, cleaning equipmentPaint, plaster and perform other building and grounds maintenance functions including plumbing and carpentryPerform basic inspections, preventive maintenance and minor repairs to material handling batteries, changing equipment, and conveying systemsAssist skilled maintenance personnel in disassembles, assembles, installs and maintaining pipe systems, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipmentAssist skilled maintenance personnel in repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipmentAssist skilled maintenance personnel with scheduled and preventive maintenance of equipment, machinery, electrical systems and structures using blueprints, diagrams, manuals and written instructions while adhering to all safety guidelines to ensure efficient operationsAssist skilled maintenance personnel in troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing malfunctions of equipment and machineryEnsure all hazardous material in the Maintenance Department is stored in a flammable storage cabinet at the end of each shift or when not in useQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
