Job summary
Chewy, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician III for our Fulfillment Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA. You will perform preventative maintenance on the facility conveyance system, repair warehouse equipment, and handle carpentry, metal fabrication, and battery work.
The role requires 3-5 years in distribution/manufacturing, 480V electrical knowledge, PLCs/ladder logic, and experience with building systems. Night/weekend OT may be required, with opportunity to grow and earn wage increases after 3
Qualifications
- 3-5 years technical experience in Distribution or Manufacturing environment
- 480/3 phase electrical and low voltage AC/DC experience
- Experience with building systems such as fire suppression, air compressors, power distribution
- Understanding of PLCs and ladder logic
- Conveyor experience preferred
- Mechanical experience
- Powered industrial truck experience preferred
- Windows/ PC experience
- HVAC knowledge
- Hydraulics and Pneumatics experience
- Ability to instruct and mentor others
- Ability to work nights, weekends and overtime
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all equipment is operating accurately and safely.
- Perform periodic and general maintenance tasks throughout our facility as assigned and according to schedule.
- Perform inspections of conveyor systems, air systems, shipping, packing equipment and building systems.
- Tasks may include plumbing, painting, rack repair, cleaning, general carpentry skills and metal fabrication.
- Change batteries and repair batteries and chargers as needed.
- Ability to investigate problems and fix various conveyor and packaging systems.
- Complete repair orders and parts usage records.
- Work in various seasonal climates.
- Follow our company policies and safety procedures.
- Ensure a safe work environment.
