The Maintenance Technician III is a senior-level technician responsible for advanced troubleshooting, system ownership, and reliability improvement of automated equipment. This role serves as a technical expert, leading complex diagnostics, mentoring technicians, and supporting automation systems.Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and controls issues across automation systems (conveyors, sortation, ASRS, packaging)Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet)Serve as technical owner for key systems, including advanced faults, timing, and integration issuesLead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement reliability improvementsDevelop and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance strategiesRead and interpret complex electrical schematics and system documentationCoordinate with OEMs and third-party vendors for advanced supportDocument maintenance activities and system performance in CMMSSupport equipment upgrades, trials, and capital projectsMentor and train Maintenance Technicians I & IIRequired SkillsAdvanced electrical controls troubleshootingPLC diagnostics and automation systems expertiseIndustrial networking and servo systemsMechanical systems and power transmissionLeadership, mentoring, and problem-solving skillsHigh School Diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in automated environmentsStrong experience with PLCs, servo systems, and advanced electrical troubleshootingKnowledge of industrial networking and control systemsAbility to lead complex troubleshooting and maintenance effortsExperience with CMMS systemsPhysical RequirementsStand and walk throughout a shiftClimb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periodsReach, pull, push, and lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights up to 50 poundsOperate warehouse equipment safely as required for the position (i.e. pallet jack, box cutter, carts) which requires coordinated movementsShift: Mon-Thurs 4:00pm to 3:30amYou should be proficient in:Leadership / People Management120/208/240/480 Voltage SystemsEquipment Diagnostics & TroubleshootingAdvanced electrical controls troubleshootingExperience with CMMS systemsMechanical systems and power transmissionStrong experience with PLCs and servo systemsMachines & technologies you'll use:Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)Conveyor SystemsServo Motors
