Job summary

Venture Metals+ seeks a skilled maintenance technician to repair and maintain recycling facility equipment, including heavy mobile machinery, conveyors, ballers, and shredders. You will perform preventive maintenance, install new equipment, and document all repairs.

You must troubleshoot hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems, read safety and maintenance manuals, own basic hand tools, and hold a valid driver's license. This is an on-site role in Dallas, Texas.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of verifiable experience related to industrial troubleshooting, maintenance and repair on heavy equipment or in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
• Balances team and individual responsibilities; able to build consensus.
• Must have your own basic hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Valid State Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain recycling facility equipment, including heavy mobile equipment, conveyors, ballers, shredders, etc.
• Install new equipment and perform preventive maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and minimize downtime on heavy industrial equipment.
• Maintain and repair Sennebogen and Caterpillar machine handlers.
• Complete work orders and document repairs performed.
• Identify necessary parts for repairs.
• Use computers to research and source part/equipment replacements.
• Work in multiple positions and adhere to safety requirements.
• Provide constructive feedback and coaching as needed.
• Work various shifts if required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by maintenance and operations management.

Job description

Responsibilities

• This position consists of repairing and maintaining all recycling facility equipment (this includes heavy mobile equipment, conveyors, ballers, shredders, etc.), installing new equipment, and performing preventive maintenance tasks.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment and industrial recycling equipment to minimize downtime and make improvements.
• Responsible for maintaining the Sennebogen and caterpillar machine handlers.
• Perform repair work on systems including hydraulics, electronic/electrical systems, mechanical repairs, basic fabrication, preventive maintenance, and other tasks as assigned.
• Complete work orders and keep detailed notes of repairs performed.
• Identify necessary parts for repairs.
• Use computers/internet to research and source part/equipment replacements.
• Work in multiple positions, including but not limited to kneeling, bending, crouching, elevated in lifts, for extended durations.
• Observe all safety requirements and lead by example in working safely.
• Ability to give and receive constructive feedback for coaching.
• Ability to work various shifts if needed.
• Other duties as assigned or directed by maintenance and operations management team.

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand; climb; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled production facility.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 - 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
